Release Blitz: Paige in Progress by Brighton Walsh

She wanted a one-night stand…and then he moved in next door.
Paige Bennett is more than content with her life and what she does—and does not—have in it. She’s got a supportive family, a great apartment, and the best friend a girl could ask for; so what if her relationships expire faster than a carton of milk? After a disastrous detour courtesy of poor judgment in the boyfriend department, her plan is back on track and her dream job is finally within her grasp. Nothing can make her lose focus now. Well, nothing except the one-night stand she had with her best friend’s surrogate brother. The one-night stand she can’t stop thinking about.
Adam Reid has always been reliable…the responsible son, the loyal friend, the steady boyfriend. Two years ago, he graduated Magna Cum Laude and is well on his way to making a name for himself at an accounting firm in Denver—a far cry from working as a helper in the Mom and Pop store his parents own in Michigan. But when said store starts failing, he’s the only one who can step in and help. So reliable Adam does what he always does, and he comes to the rescue.
Paige thought Adam was a safe bet because he lives halfway across the country. But then suddenly he’s moving back to their town, and then into her apartment building, and soon he’s worming his way right into her life. If she’s not careful, he might sneak his way into her heart, too…

Paige in Progress is the 3rd book in the Reluctant Hearts series by Brighton Walsh. Like the first two books, this book is a wonderful read. It is not necessary to read the other books in this series, but I highly recommend that you do. This book pulls in characters from the former books, and I think it's more enjoyable if you understand the characters' stories.

We have had mention of Adam in both books, but don't really, really get to know him until this book. I have enjoyed his character in this series. He was genuine, supportive, and always there to give solid advice to his two best friends, Cade and Jason. In this book, I absolutely fell in love with him. He has never been a playboy, choosing instead to stick to relationships and find "The One". He always knew he wanted to get married; it was always the end goal going into relationships. However, his alpha side, that he wasn't aware of, come out in this book. Holy smokes! You don't want to miss alpha Adam!

Paige is introduced in book 2, Tessa Ever After. She is Tessa's best friend.  She is sarcastic, witty, stubborn, independent, and cusses like a sailor. She is awesome and fun. Paige is definitely a character that I would love to be friends with. She is the total opposite of who Adam usually goes for, and the same is true for her. Paige's one downfall is that she doesn't do relationships. She doesn't allow herself to be in a "relationship" with a guy. This is really the only thing that made me annoyed with her. Adam is only home for the summer, helping his parents get their sporting goods store back on solid ground. During that time, he and Paige have a fling of sorts. It consists of many not dates and a lot of sexual chemistry. I really enjoyed their story.

What I really enjoy in this series is the growth of the characters. They all have issues as they try to find their places in the world. They reluctantly learn to open up their hearts regardless of their pasts. It doesn't hurt that there is plenty of heat infused into the stories. Add in fun dialogue and relatable characters and you have awesome stories that, I for one, will be visiting again and again.
