Trudy Stiles does it again! This author knows how to create realistic characters and memorable romances packed with emotion. Epic Lies is book 2 in this series. This is a stand-alone in the Epic Fail series, but I highly recommend the first book, Epic Sins. The books and characters are interconnected and it just makes the book more enjoyable knowing their background.
This book centers around , the drummer of Epic Fail. He is a great guy who is afraid to let himself care about a woman due to not one, but two relationships that ended badly. My heart absolutely broke for him. He fell in love with a girl in high school and the way they ended just gutted me. It's no wonder why he was hesitant.
Giselle also has had her fair share of horrible relationships, but she didn't let her experiences break her. She was guarded, however, she always picked up the pieces and didn't let them define her. She was a really strong character. I loved that she wasn't afraid to speak her mind. These two damaged characters are perfect for each other. I absolutely adored their story. Of course it wouldn't be a great read without a few hiccups in the story, but I thought these two characters overcame their obstacles beautifully.
This author always seamlessly weaves her books with flashbacks to give us a better understanding of her characters. As such, they richer and are so well developed. It really adds another dimension to her stories. I recommend every one of her books!
