Penelope Reid can do no wrong in my eyes and the Winston Brothers
are my favorite. The personalities of Ms Reid’s characters are always full of
life, reality and humor.
In Grin and Beard It, we are getting Jethro Winston. He is
the brother who lived a seedier past but out to make amends with his family and
friends. He is sensitive to others around him and he’s actions are always genuine
and heartfelt. So when Jethro saves Sienna from being lost, he saves the day.
Sienna is a huge Hollywood movie star wanting a break from
all the pressures that come with being a leading lady. When Jethro treats her
like a normal person and not going ga-ga over her, she is immediately drawn to
him.
The realness of Jethro and Sienna’s relationship was
enjoyable to watch with many moving parts throughout. The characters felt real
and all their emotions jumped out of my kindle.
Even though Grin and Beard It is in a series, this
book can be read as a standalone. I loved seeing the Winston family again and I
can’t wait for more.
