RELEASE BLITZ: Stone (Stone Cold Fox Trilogy #1) by Max Monroe

First, hate. Then, want. But in the end? Heartbreak.
My celebrity life was supposed to be easy, and this movie was the biggest break of my career. But from the moment Officer Levi Fox gave me a speeding ticket on my way into town, he’s been nothing but a thorn in my side.
Dominant. Cocky. Callous.
Midnight blue eyes, a bad attitude, and muscles for days, he’s exactly the kind of man I should avoid.
But as the Cold, Montana Police Department’s official movie liaison, he’s taken up a permanent place in my life that I can’t shake.
We fight. A lot.
Then, we kiss—and my carefully crafted hate toward him no longer feels so much like hate.
I’m falling
falling
falling.
But how often do alpha-jerks cushion the landing?
Note: Levi and Ivy’s story will continue in Book Two—Cold.

I wanted a second chance. What I got was a repeat.

She was too beautiful. Too smart. And her emerald green eyes saw too much.

I wanted space-she took it away.
I craved her lips-she gave me her kiss.
I screwed it up-she got smart.

Avoiding me is the right thing to do. I'm messed up, tortured, and probably always will be.
But I still want her.
Her mind. Her body. Her heart.
I want it all.

And this time, I'm in control.
No matter what I have to do, I will make her mine.

Note: Levi and Ivy's story will continue in Book Three-Fox.

Excerpt

Now…what do you say to some Italian ices? Ever been to Hank’s?”

She shook her head. “I’ve passed it but there’s always been a ridiculous crowd of people out front.”

“Well, it’s worth the wait. Feel like going on the way home?”

She nodded. “If you can keep me occupied while we wait, then I don’t mind.”

He laughed. “I think I like that challenge.”

When they arrived at Hank’s, an outdoor ice cream and Italian ices stand, they discovered a short line. Not enough for him to have to entertain her, and before they knew it, they were ordering.

Because they also had ice cream, Halley changed her mind when it came to ordering and asked for vanilla ice cream with hot fudge topping. Kane got a red Italian ice.

They took their desserts and walked over to a short brick wall and hopped up, sitting side by side, legs swinging as they ate.

He finished his first. “Good?” he asked, putting his cup down beside him.

She glanced over, laughing. “Your tongue is red.”

He stuck it out at her and grinned.

“Want some of mine?” She held out the spoon of vanilla and chocolate mixed.

“No, doesn’t exactly mix with my cherry.” He paused, as if thinking of something. “Unless…”

“Hmm?” She raised an eyebrow.

“Unless I’m kissing you.” And before she could react, he leaned over and swept his tongue over her lips and into her mouth, devouring her quickly but thoroughly.

She moaned into him, leaning in close, savoring the warm cherry flavor he brought to her dessert.

Before she was ready, he lifted his head and met her gaze, his eyes dark and hungry. “Now that is how to eat an ice cream.”

REVIEW: The Vintner's Vixen by Rebecca Norinne & Jamaila Brinkley

Welcome to River Hill, where the only thing more intoxicating than the wine is the man who makes it. With movie roles for "curvy best friend" drying up fast, actress Angelica Travis is happy to be leaving Hollywood behind for a project she's truly passionate about: renovating an historic bed and breakfast in peaceful wine country. She's got plans and power tools ready, but an inconvenient attraction to her obnoxious new neighbor is NOT on the agenda. Winemaker Noah Bradstone wants nothing more than to cultivate his grapes and win awards for his wine. But when construction on the B&B next door threatens his vines, Noah goes on a rampage - and comes up hard against the sexiest starlet he's ever seen. Exactly the sort of woman he's vowed never to get involved with again. Angelica and Noah might be able to resolve their differences over a glass of some very fine wine, but when her opportunity at breakout stardom comes calling, all bets are off.

The Vintner's Vixen was so much more than I was expecting. From the blurb I figured it was going to be a formulated RomCom I could curl up with and laugh my way through. In some ways it was...until it wasn't and I enjoyed it even more for that.

Noah Bradstone likes his small town living and making wine. He works hard on his land and in business, as well as, to step out of the shadow of his famous father and high society family. Angelica Travis, is done in Hollywood and is ready to follow her dream of owning and operating a B&B. She's found the perfect place and has put all she has into this project. Only problem is, the sexy wine maker next door...

I didn't really feel the level of chemistry that the characters kept talking about right off the bat but over time as they got to know each other and the story progressed it was in every moment between them and I was hooked. I loved Noah's grouch demeanor and Angelica's sass. Both whipsmart and ready to spar. There was a great level of balance between the push and pull as Noah and Angelica realized they weren't going to be able to walk away from the attraction they were feeling.

When things start to heat up between Noah and Angelica, right away, they started getting tested...between Hollywood knocking on Angelica's door and Noah's family name, you were just waiting for that thing that you knew would be coming to pull them a part. That, for me, was were the story stopped being formula RomCom. It would have been so easy to have this blow up and then some realization they can't live without each other and tie a bow on it but there was so much more and I loved how Rebecca and Jamaila addressed it. They developed the story on a deeper level while maintaining the tone of a Contemporary Romantic Comedy. They made it feel real and it made you root for Noah and Angelica even more. They gave you a bow that made sense and left you completely satisfied.

To be truthful I'm not a big fan of co-authored books and typically try to stay away from them. I kept seeing the sign up for The Vintner's Vixen and passing it up. I saw it one final time and just couldn't let it go and I'm glad I didn't. I'm not familiar with Rebecca and Jamaila's writing, they are both new to me, but they wrote so well together I didn't feel like there was a divide in the writing style and that made it easier to stay in the moments as they happened. I won't make that mistake again. I'm excited for the next book in the series.

RELEASE BLITZ: Switch Hitter by Sara Ney

I knew something was wrong the second she walked in the door tonight; I just couldn’t put my finger on what it was. Same hair color. Same legs. Same face. Except…I look harder. At the small dimple beneath her lip that wasn’t there the last time we went out. And her laugh—that laugh isn’t as loud. This isn’t the girl I’ve gone out with the past few weeks. It’s her twin sister, and they’ve switched places on me. Only I’m not quite ready to let them switch back.

Switch Hitter was a cute, fun, quick read. I loved Dante. Going into a Contemporary Sports Romance I think we always have that distinct stereotype that the "jock" hero falls into but Sara Ney says nope, he's a decent and good man looking for the right woman. Which he finds in Lucy, or is it Amelia? Twins Lucy and Amelia are practically identically but couldn't be more different. When Amelia is tasked with going out with Dante as Lucy, she realizes that not being her herself was going to be a lot harder than she imagined in the face of Dante turning out to be such a great guy. Someone who she could actually be interested in. Dante was quick on realizing something was up...but what was it? Why was Lucy the slightly self absorbed wild child one moment and then the opposite the next.

I don't typically like novellas, I didn't realize Switch Hitter was one until it arrived on my Kindle. I thought it kept a good pace but it felt like I was walking into a moment that had already started. I would have liked a little bit more of pretty much everything, especially at the end when I turned the, what I didn't realize was the last page and realized it was over. But overall I still enjoyed it. Sara created some really great characters, who I hope show up in the next book in the Jock Hard series,  Jock Row. And if the sample of Jock Row was anything to go by you will want to check that out when it goes live one May. I really enjoyed the first chapter.

Sara Ney is the USA Today Bestselling Author of the How to Date a Douchebag series, and is best known for her sexy, laugh-out-loud New Adult romances. Among her favorite vices, she includes: iced latte's, historical architecture and well-placed sarcasm. She lives colorfully, collects vintage books, art, loves flea markets, and fancies herself British. She lives with her husband, children, and her ridiculously large dog.
