Sins of Seven by Penelope Ward

From the New York Times bestselling author of Stepbrother Dearest, comes a new forbidden STANDALONE romance.

What happens when the one you want is the only one you can’t have?

My name is Sevin.

Homeschooled and sheltered by my ultra-religious family, I was always taught that lust was a sin.

Elle was the girl who’d been carefully chosen for me.

After a long-distance courtship, I’d be moving into her family’s guesthouse so that we could get to know each other in the months before the wedding.

Boundaries were set: no inappropriate touching, no kissing, no sex before marriage.

I’d accepted those rules and my fate.

Until I met the one I wanted to sin with.

That was when restraint became a problem…especially since the one wasn’t Elle.

It was her sister, Evangeline.

You know what they say about best laid plans.

My name is Sevin, and I have sinned.

Told in alternating points of view, Sins of Sevin is a full-length standalone novel. Contains graphic sexual content and harsh language. Only appropriate for adult readers age 18+.

Blog Tour & Review: Sustained by Emma Chase

Title: Sustained (The Legal Briefs, Book 2)
Author: Emma Chase

A knight in tarnished armor is still a knight.
When you’re a defense attorney in Washington, DC, you see firsthand how hard life can be, and that sometimes the only way to survive is to be harder. I, Jake Becker, have a reputation for being cold, callous, and intimidating—and that suits me just fine. In fact, it’s necessary when I’m breaking down a witness on the stand.
Complications don’t work for me—I’m a “need-to-know” type of man. If you’re my client, tell me the basic facts. If you’re my date, stick to what will turn you on. I’m not a therapist or Prince Charming—and I don’t pretend to be.
Then Chelsea McQuaid and her six orphaned nieces and nephews came along and complicated the ever-loving hell out of my life. Now I'm going to Mommy & Me classes, One Direction concerts, the emergency room, and arguing cases in the principal's office.
Chelsea’s too sweet, too innocent, and too gorgeous for her own good. She tries to be tough, but she’s not. She needs someone to help her, defend her…and the kids.
And that — that, I know how to do.

I have been absolutely giddy about the release of the second book in Emma Chase's Legal Briefs Series. I enjoyed the first novel, Overruled, and couldn't wait to get my hands on Sustained. This is Jake Becker's story, and while I have loved all of Chase's fictional men, Becker is officially my favorite.

If you haven't had the pleasure of reading a novel by Emma Chase -- shame on you! In all my years of reading I have discovered female authors often struggle trying to write the male point-of-view. Men are fickle creatures and hard it's hard to fully capture exactly what must be going on inside their complex minds. With that being said, no one writes the perspective of a man better than Emma Chase. She brings these heroes to life and does it with humor, sexuality, and a smidge of humility and tenderness. Each of her gentlemen are so unique from one another, no two characters are the same and nothing about their inner workings is repetitive (except maybe their sexual appetites). Jake Becker is sharp and driven. He exudes confidence in both the courtroom and bedroom, but stumbles through the idea of long-term commitment.

I loved every part of Sustained from cover to cover. Chelsea McQuaid has been dealt a crummy life after an unexpected accident. She and her baggage are thrust into the forefront of Jake's life and he must navigate the obstacles and opportunities Chelsea's presence in his life presents him. The banter and playfulness of Chelsea and Jake's connection is something every woman will swoon over. I couldn't put Sustained down and fell deeper in love with Jake after every chapter. As with every Emma Chase novel, there is plenty of laughter, an abundance of sexual chemistry, and plot twists that will leave you reeling and hungry to find out what happens next.

I cannot recommend this novel enough for fans of Chase's previous work or to readers who haven't yet experienced this author's fantastic writing. This was by far my favorite book from Emma Chase. Sustained is the second in a series but can be read as a stand alone (if you don't mind finding out spoilers from Overruled while reading).

I was SO excited for this book! Emma Chase always knocks it out of the park with her words and Sustained was no different. This book was everything I expected and more. It had the humor that Emma Chase is well known for, as well as the perfect amount of angst and emotion.

If you haven't read the first book in the series, you are seriously missing out. While technically Sustained is a stand alone, I highly recommend reading Overruled first. Otherwise you will find out spoilers from the first book and that is never fun.

Sustained in the story of Jake Becker and Chelsea McQuaid. Jake is a no nonsense defence attorney. He is sexy as sin with a mouth that is full of sass. You can't help but love this man, and the more you read in the book the more you fall in love with him. He may come across as a hard ass but he really is a sweetheart. Emma did another great job of writing a male perspective. Sometimes it's really hard to connect with a book that is told from mainly the male POV but that is not the case with Sustained, or any of Emma's books.

Chelsea McQuaid is a sweet, funny, and caring woman. She is thrust into a position that anyone would take but not the way she had to take it.  It's heartbreaking to hear her story. Even through all the heartbreak she is a strong woman who loves with all she has. I loved getting to know her throughout the book and she is easily one of my favorite female characters.

Even though the children are not main characters in this book, they definitely were a huge part. Each child has it's own distinct personality and at times it was quite hilarious reading what each one of them was up to.

I highly recommend reading this series. It will not disappoint. Once you start the book you won't be able to put it down. I read Sustained in one sitting and enjoyed every single page of it. I can't wait for the next book in the series!

By day, Emma Chase is a devoted wife and mother of two who resides in a small, rural town in New Jersey. By night she is a keyboard crusader, toiling away the hours to bring her colorful characters and their endless antics to life. She has a long standing love/hate relationship with caffeine.

Emma is an avid reader. Before her children were born she was known to consume whole books in a single day. Writing has also always been a passion and with the 2013 release of her debut romantic comedy, Tangled, the ability to now call herself an author is nothing less than a dream come true.

Teacher by day, romance writer at night produce an active imagination that comes to life in her writing.
How long had it been since she had sex? Four, five years?
A sudden hot flash hit her, so she unzipped the hoodie, tossing it on the grass. Her assigned task had been to screw in the bolts, not ogle Mr. Stone. As she attempted to concentrate on what needed to get done, she stretched up on her tiptoes to the end of the pole and secured the nut.
“What the hell, Maggie?”
Startled by the yelling, she dropped the wrench a centimeter from hitting her big toe. As she bent over to pick it up, Mr. Stone shouted and made her jump all over again. “What are you doing?” Before she stood all the way up, he shoved his T-shirt into her face. “Put this on.”
Instead of listening to his order, she swiped her hand across her damp brow, setting it on her temple and blocking the sun.
“Christ, cover yourself up.” He grabbed her other hand, clasped it around the material, and held it closed.
Following the direction of his eyes, she glanced down.
“Forget something, Mags.” Kat’s ribbing hadn’t helped the situation.
Well, since she didn’t know she’d be surrounded by men, she hadn’t given it a second thought when she opted out of wearing a bra. Sometimes on the weekends, she lounged around the house without one. On the small side, a thirty-six B, it wasn’t a big deal on those occasions. Now, with his eyes zeroed in on her rock-hard nipples, she determined that choice hadn’t been a wise decision. Yet, instead of doing what he said, she remained rooted in place, resisting his pull as he tugged his shirt, and her hand up, trying to cover her. Her libido kicked up to full blast and desire shoved her toward him—to tease, play a little.
“Dammit, Maggie, take this. Put me out of my misery.” His grumbled plea should have been undecipherable since he’d spoken it so low. The huskiness in his voice licked along her spine, and tingles followed as though his lips brushed along her skin from waist to neck.
She loosened her hold, and his hand rose, brushing a knuckle across her nipple, the exact spot he wanted to shield.
Her legs turned to Jell-O. The mushy mass below her hips wouldn’t hold her up any longer. She swayed into him, grabbing hold of his waistband. Their chests beat against each other—his bare, hers begging to be, causing her nipples to harden even more. The coarse hair on his heated thighs scrubbed against her shaved, smooth ones. Her gaze kept wandering from his eyes to his tongue sliding over his bottom lip, moistening the ridges to a glistening, delectable, nibble-him morsel.
She wanted to touch him. No, she needed to. Unable to stop herself, she swept her thumb over his damp belly button, grit and sweat coating the pad of her finger. Each of their bodies called out suck me, go ahead and taste.
“Step back, Maggie. Get away from me, right now,” he groused, his lips closing in, a breath apart from hers. At least a half foot taller, his height difference didn’t matter. He sucked her in with his beautiful eyes that had so many variations of brown, green, and blue in them, she could’ve been gazing in a kaleidoscope. “Last chance.” The warning came out as a soft growl, his lips slicking against hers as he attempted to scare her away.

Blog Tour Review: Cocky Bastard by Penelope Ward and Vi Keeland

Meet Chance in COCKY BASTARD!
A standalone Contemporary Romance novel by
New York Times & USA Today Bestselling Authors
Penelope Ward & Vi Keeland

Read Chapter One of Cocky Bastard HERE:  http://bit.ly/1MCrJk9

He was someone who belonged in my wildest fantasies instead of a rest stop in the middle of Nebraska.

A sexy, cocky, Australian named Chance was the last person I expected to run into on my cross-country drive.

When my car broke down, we made a deal. Next thing I knew, we were traveling together, spending sexually-tense nights in hotels and taking unplanned detours.

My ordinary road trip turned into the adventure of a lifetime. It was all fun and games until things got intense.

I wanted him, but Chance wouldn’t make a move. I thought he wanted me too, but something was holding him back.

I wasn’t supposed to fall for the cocky bastard, especially when I knew we’d be going our separate ways.

All good things must come to an end, right?

Except our ending was one I didn’t see coming.

If I had to I could summarize this book for me in 1 word. SWOON! This book was fantastic. Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward knocked this one out of the park. This book was full of laughs, smart wit, sexual tension and love. I even got a little weepy for a second I was that drawn into the emotions of the characters.

Chance Bateman can climb into my car for a cross country trip anytime. He is a smoking hot Aussie with an accent that I could hear in my head while I was reading. Aubrey was a conservative lawyer looking for a change in California. Through the trip the two bonded and connected on a whole new level.

I really loved this book. I can’t even pick out something that I didn’t like. Chance was the perfect book boyfriend and I fell in love with him right along with Aubrey. The side kick they picked up along the way was perfection and added so much fun to the story,

I can’t recommend this book enough. Buy it, don’t click anything else until you meet Chance.

A knock at the door made me jump.
With a huff, I got out of bed and stood on my tiptoes to look out the peephole.  Why were those things always so high on the door anyway?  I was surprised to find no one standing on the other side.  Maybe I’d imagined it.
Another knock.
I flicked on the lights. The sound wasn’t coming from the entrance door.  It was coming from an interior door I hadn’t even noticed before.
Chance’s door.
I unfastened the top lock and cracked it open just enough so I could see what he wanted.  And there he stood.
Shirtless.
Wearing only dark gray boxer briefs that hugged him like a second skin.
It took a minute to understand what he was doing there, even though he was holding up a toothbrush in question.
“I thought we had established I wasn’t a serial killer already.”
I opened the door wider.
He smiled.
Oh lord.  Stop that.  Right now.
“I must have left my toothpaste in my saddlebag in the car.”
I swallowed hard.  “Uh huh.”
He cocked his head to the side, and his brows dipped in.  “Can I borrow yours?”
“Oh.  Yeah, sure.”
He walked past me and let himself into my bathroom.  I waited at the door.
“You got an awful lot of girly crap in here for one night,” he said with a jumbled mouth full of toothpaste from the bathroom.  “Private Collection Tuberose Gardenia.”
He was reading my Estee Lauder perfume bottle.
I heard him rinse and spit.  Then there was a gargling sound.  He used my mouthwash, too.  Sure, help yourself.
He walked out and flicked off the bathroom light.  “Is tuberose a rose?”
I shook my head, still confused by the whole situation going on.
“That’s why,” he murmured.
“Why what?”
“I couldn’t figure out what you smelled like all day.  Not sure I ever smelled a Tuberose before.”  He shrugged and walked back into his room but not before turning back.  “Even those little black lacy underwear smell like tuberose.”
My eyes bulged.  I’d taken off my bra and panties and left them on the bathroom counter.
“You…you—”
“Relax.  I’m teasing.  Do I look like an underwear sniffer to you?”
Yes.
No.
Maybe?
“Night, Aubrey.” He graced me with a dimple and disappeared.
AH-BREE.  Damn him.
I locked the door and checked it twice, unclear if it was for my safety or his.  His voice saying my name was on audio replay inside my head, getting softer and softer like a soothing lullaby with each breath as I drifted off to dreamland.
Until the knock came again.
