Searching for Always is the fourth book in Jennifer Probt's Searching For Series and is by far my favorite. I have grown to love these characters and find myself setting aside other novels and such to consume the latest in this series as soon as I get my hands on it. These books are the kinds of stories any reader can fall in love with regardless of genre preferences.
For the fourth book, Probst unveils the world of Arilyn Meadows. She's the resident counselor at Kinnections, yoga teacher, and all around environmental do gooder. Her lifestyle shares few similarities to my own, but despite our differences, I had no problem relating to this heroine. Her heart is so full and pure, it's hard to believe she's still single. Women everywhere can relate to her relationship failures and being the "single friend" when everyone around you is coupled off. Our hero comes in the form of a hot headed police officer named Stone Petty. Arilyn and Petty have crossed paths in a prior book, and fireworks ignited. Our hero and heroine set the standard in defining the term "complete opposites". I have yet to come across a story where the leads have so little in common and everything about their personalities clash. Because of their stark contrast, I worried that Arilyn and Stone, despite their intense physical attraction, wouldn't find their happily ever after.
Watching these two opposites navigate their differences was humorous and frustrating at times, but only deepened my love for these characters. Jennifer Probst knows how to write a plot and characters that effortlessly draw you in and keep you spellbound. This full length novel is riddled with dramatic hiccups and twists, but nothing too drastic that might turn a reader off. The overall heartwarming, uplifting undercurrent of the story remains true to the other novels in this series. I dare you not to fall in love with the connection Pinky and Stone share. Who's Pinky? You'll have to pick up a copy of Searching for Always to find out.
Once again Jennifer Probst has delivered an absolute treasure with Searching for Always. I fell in love with Arilyn and Stone and can't wait to see what she comes up with next for the characters in this series. I highly recommend everyone treat themselves to The Searching For Series and get swept away to Verily.
