Blog Tour Reviews: Consolation by Corinne Michaels

Liam wasn’t supposed to be my happily ever after.
He wasn’t even on my radar.
He was my husband’s best friend—forbidden.

But my husband is dead and I’m alone. I ache for him and I reach for Liam.

One night with Liam changed everything. Now I have to decide if I truly love him or if he’s just the consolation prize.

Meet Liam and Natalie in Consolation!

I lift my head and press my lips against his. His hand cradles my cheek and he holds me as we kiss. I grab his neck and feel the weightlessness from letting a little part of myself go. He kisses me adoringly and cautiously, allowing me to lead but still commanding me. I lose myself a little more as I moan when his hand presses against the small of my back.
“Let go,” he says against my mouth. “Let me take it for you.”
Before I can say anything, his mouth is on mine again. Our tongues thrash against each other as the kiss becomes hungry. He pulls me close so there’s no space between us. The low sound resonates through his chest, sending shivers down my spine. It’s sexy, and before I know it, my hands are traveling to his chest. I pull his shirt out and my fingers trail up his chest. I want to feel his skin.
Liam breaks the kiss. “Natalie,” my name is both a plea and a request.
“Shhh,” I instruct him as I unbutton his shirt. “I want to feel your heart.”
My hands glide up and he trembles beneath my touch. We stand here with my fingers resting on his chest, feeling his heart beat beneath me. He’s alive and here with me. His hands stay at his sides as he once again lets me decide where I’m going with this.
“I want to touch you so bad,” he admits and his hand lifts then drops. “I’m fighting every muscle in my body right now.”
“Stop fighting,” I say without thinking.

Oh. My. Gracious. I don't even know how to begin my review for Consolation by Corinne Michaels because everything I want to say is riddled with spoilers. This book is so insanely amazing you won't want to miss out on it. This is the first book in the Consolation Duet, and I cannot wait for the second book already.
I am such a sucker for drama. This synopsis had me hooked with all that talk about dead husbands and loving their best friends. Throw in the fact that our hero wears a uniform. Please and thank you. Sign me up. Natalie loses her husband and on the road to closure catches feelings for Liam, her husband's best friend. Close your eyes and imagine the angst and feels this book has. Then multiply that by a billion. That's the kind of emotional turmoil you're going to get dragged through while reading Consolation. It's addictive. It's fantastic. I loved every heartbreaking second.
This book does end in a cliff. A cliff that is so mind blowingly unexpected, I can't even go there right now. Corinne Michaels, I feel like you've put on every gaudy ring in a Charming Charlie store, turned them around, and slapped me across the face. Cold blooded. The anxiety I have when I think about what book two will be like. Ugh. Pick up Consolation by Corinne Michaels. It's a must read!

WOW WOW WOW! This book was hands down on of the best books I have read in 2015. The synopsis grabbed me right away. Add in an absolute stunning cover and I was sold. This was my first Corrine Michaels book and it will not be the last.

All the feels were there with this story. They started on the first page and didn’t stop until my jaw hit the ground on the last page! Natalie and Liam were great characters. I’m pretty I fell head over heels in love with Liam. He was the perfect man with imperfections. Le sigh. Natalie was pretty amazing too. She kept taking hit after hit but she was strong. She never let the hits keep her down for long.

This book ends in a cliffhanger. One that will make you wish it was already May 27. I absolutely loved Corrine’s writing style and was in the story with the characters every step of the way. I can’t wait to see what happens next!

You must read this book! You will not regret it! SOOOO good.

Easy With You by Kristen Proby Release Day Post

Easy with You

Amazon Kindle ** Amazon Print

Nothing has ever come easy for Lila Bailey. She’s fought for every good thing in her life during every day of her thirty-one years. Aside from that one night with an impossible to deny stranger a year ago, Lila is the epitome of responsible.

Steadfast. Strong.

She’s pulled herself out of the train wreck of her childhood, proud to be a professor at Tulane University and laying down roots in a city she’s grown to love. But when some of her female students are viciously murdered, Lila’s shaken to the core and unsure of whom she can trust in New Orleans. When the police detective assigned to the murder case comes to investigate, she’s even more surprised to find herself staring into the eyes of the man that made her toes curl last year.

In an attempt to move on from the tragic loss of his wife, Asher Smith moved his daughter and himself to a new city, ready for a fresh start. A damn fine police lieutenant, but new to the New Orleans force, Asher has a lot to prove to his colleagues and himself.

With a murderer terrorizing the Tulane University campus, Asher finds himself toe-to-toe with the one woman that haunts his dreams. His hands, his lips, his body know her as intimately as he’s ever known anyone. As he learns her mind and heart as well, Asher wants nothing more than to keep her safe, in his bed, and in his and his daughter’s lives for the long haul.

But when Lila becomes the target, can Asher save her in time, or will he lose another woman he loves?

I have to say I was very excited that I was going to get to hear more about Asher and his cute little daughter.  I didn't know if I was going to be as vested in it because they were not in Seattle with the rest of the Montgomery family and we wouldn't have that chemistry that we had with them there, but I have to say I was wrong.

Asher is looking for something new and he gets that with Lila.  After one night together in New Orleans, they don't exchange numbers and don't think that they will ever see each other again.  Well, we know that somehow down then way they are going to see each other and the sparks are going to fly just as strong as they did the first time around.  I love that Lila has an instant connection with  Casey, Asher's daughter and that made me feel that this was going to have the ending that I was waiting for.
I was not sure about the mystery part of the books as it was a little different, but even that was believable and kept the story flow going.

I really think that this was a book that could have been a full length book, but I guess we get what we get and I will take it as it was.  A great book to make the cold nights a little more bearable.

“You didn’t ask for her number.” She scowls and pokes her finger into my chest. I look down at it, then glance up at her with a raised brow.

“You just assaulted an officer.”

“I did?” She swallows hard.

“Yes. I might have to arrest you.”

“With handcuffs?” She smiles gleefully, clearly excited at the thought.

“Would you like me to arrest you with handcuffs?”

“Hell to the yes!”

“Kate?” There’s suddenly a very tall, very irritated man standing behind the fiery redhead, staring daggers into me. I can’t help but laugh.

“I’m talking to the hot Asher,” she says, not turning to look at him. “I assaulted him, and he’s a cop, and he’s going to put me in handcuffs.”

“No, I don’t believe he will.”

I laugh again. “There’s nothing going on here, man.”

“Come see Lila!” Kate takes my hand, pulling me from my stool to the table behind us. Most of the women have cleared out, leaving just a few, including the sexy as fuck woman I met on the plane yesterday. “Where did everyone go?”

“Declan took them home,” Lila replies, and her hand stops midway between the table and her lips, holding her drink. Her violet eyes widen when she sees me. “Hi.”

“We meet again.” I sit next to her, my fingers itching to plunge in her dark hair and brush it over her shoulder. “How are you, Lila?”

“Fine.” She clears her throat and smiles at me. “I didn’t think I’d ever see you again.”

“A happy coincidence,” I reply softly. “You look beautiful.”

And she does. Her eyes are a bit glassy from the alcohol, her cheeks just a little flushed. Her hair is straight and falls down her back and over her slim shoulders. Before I can ask her questions about her trip here, or anything about her, we are soon pulled into the conversation with the others at the table. But when Kate asks Lila if she’s ready to go, I’m shocked when Lila responds with, “I’m gonna have Asher take me home.”

Easy with You Teaser 2

A Message from Kristen Proby:

Dear readers,

As you know, the With Me In Seattle series came to a close earlier this month with the eighth and final installment, FOREVER WITH ME. I've been steadfast in my decision that there would be no further stories from the series, no spin-offs, nothing more. In my mind, it was complete.

And I still feel that the Montgomery/Williams families are complete, and I maintain that I'm happy with their happy-ever-afters.

But, I've also heard you when you've said that Asher, Matt Montgomery's partner in TIED WITH ME, deserves to have a happily ever after for himself and his daughter Casey. So, when the lovely ladies from 1001 Dark Nights asked me to participate in their wonderful project, I thought long and hard about whose story it should be about. Seattle is finished, and I've moved on to New Orleans for the new Boudreaux Series... And then it occurred to me: why not do both, and offer a companion novella to each of the series?

And so, because you, the reader, has been so insistent that you want to see Asher and Casey find their perfect person, I'm excited to introduce you to EASY WITH YOU. I think you're going to love Asher and Lila's love story this spring...

Happy Reading,

Kristen Proby

Cover Reveal: Warrior by Nicole Blanchard

WarriorCoverReveal

web

I thought it was just one night.

I knew he was about to leave for a year – no chance for a future. But our one night together would create memories for a lifetime. Our paths crossed again, but I ad lied, kept a secret from him, one he would never forgive me for. But my secret was about to be ripped open. Displayed for the world on national news. And I had only one way to repair the damage. I had to trust the man I lied to. The man I never got the chance to make a life for. The only man who could save what we had created together.

“We should stop,” I whisper, my voice hoarse from the strain.
But she doesn’t. Livvie never does. She pushes me to my absolute limit, testing to see if today will finally be the day when I give into her. God, but it’s hard to resist. Not when I want to finally be as close to her as I possibly can be. But I’m afraid that we’re both rushing it because the day when I leave is finally becoming a reality.
She deserves more. She deserves better. And I want to be the man to give it to her.
She may not understand it now, but she will. I’ll make sure of it.
I trace my lips down the angle of her throat, unable to stop just yet. Soon. Her hands grapple to hold on to me, pulling me back up so that she’s locked against me from hip to lips.
“Don’t,” she murmurs. “I know what you’re thinking and I understand. But don’t pull away yet. I need to feel close to you right now.” Her arms tighten around me until I can feel the thunder of her heart against my own. “Be with me for a while, Ben. Please.”
I grin against her skin, moving to touch her lips against mine. I shift backward until she’s sitting on my lap with her arms wrapped around my neck. It’s raining now, a capricious Florida thunderstorm that’s been threatening to burst free all day, and the drum of it against my truck surrounds us in our own intimate cocoon. For a moment in time nothing can touch what we have. For a moment we’re locked inside a perfect bubble that can’t be marred by the future or distance or uncertainty.
We move in unison, pressing as close together as we can get—as though the physical closeness could bind our metaphorical hearts. I kiss her like I wish that was true—that we’d never be apart. I want her to remember this moment as much as I know I will. I want to burn the memory of this kiss into her lips. I want her dreams to be of me, of this. I want the ghost of my touch to haunt her every day until I comes back.
Everything I don’t have the balls to say is translated into that moment. How much being away from her is going to kill me. Because God, I’m going to miss her. My girl. A fierce possessiveness burns through my chest and I growl into her mouth, one arm wrapping around her little waist to press her even more firmly down on my lap. She gasps and her hips jerk instinctively against me.
I suddenly regret my own chivalry. I want nothing more than to feel her clasp around me right then. To hear her sigh. To know what it’s like to finally make her mine.
I decide to give in, just once, just a little. Just this once. A memory that will last through blood and loss. Loneliness and regret. One perfect night to make through the next year of empty ones.

Blog Tour: Losing Her by Mariah Dietz

“I loved her and she left. Maybe I wasn’t enough. Maybe I’ll never be enough.” I’ve been thinking these words since before we even got together.
Everything is new. The old no longer has a place here. Physical items are easy to replace. I'm constantly battling the ones that aren't.
Every thought and memory I have is stained.
By you.
You weren't even there for half of them.
How is she still present even though she left?
I can do this. I’m going to survive losing her.
*** This is the second book of the His Series, and it DOES end with a cliffhanger. The final book of the His Series, Finding Me, will release June 1, 2015***

“Dude, you’ve got to get up.” Jameson sighs as I pull the pillow back over my head. I don’t even know what day it is anymore. I don’t care.
What adds salt to my wounds is the fact that the world keeps turning. People continue waking up and going about their day. The sun rises and sets. I hear kids laugh and play, neighbors greet one another, and birds sing, and all the while I wonder how? How does the entire world appear to be surviving this nightmare of losing her?
****
Hank comes to visit in June. I still haven’t heard from Ace, and yet I’m still staying at my mom’s. I can’t leave. I can’t go back to that house. I’d moved rooms shortly after she left, and now reside in the guest room on the main floor. It’s better this way. There aren’t any pictures of her in here or random memories, like the one of her sitting on my bean bag chair when I was sick last summer. I also don’t have to face the window that looks out onto hers.
Hank knows that I know mom sent for him, hoping that he’d be able to “help” me. She of all people should know that having Hank around isn’t going to help me. He’s fucking married to the love of his life; he doesn’t have a fucking clue about the shit that I’m going through.
Of all things, Hank wants to go camping. I’m sure he thinks that getting away will help. He doesn’t understand that moving rooms has helped me realize I could go to Antarctica, and things wouldn’t change; the distance isn’t going to make the pain any less.
When we get camp set up, Hank opens a cooler and passes me a beer with a giant, shit-eating grin, like we’ve just overcome a huge hurdle. Deciding that I shouldn’t rain on his little douchebag tea party quite yet, I accept the beer with merely a grimace before taking a long swig. Before long, that single swig becomes a chug, and then a guzzle as I consume more alcohol than what three people probably should.
I sit by the fire and close my eyes. My mind automatically reaches back into that locked and forbidden drawer to pull out the image of Ace, striving to recall the sound of her laugh, the feel of her touch. It brings me back to our camping trip last September, when Jameson announced that was what he wanted to do for his birthday.

Becoming His (#1) – Find on Goodreads
Sometimes life's unforeseen paths lead us to discovering sides of ourselves we never knew existed.
Ace Bosse has always found solace at home, but when she returns for the summer from college, she builds an unexpected relationship with the Reckless Max Miller.
Three years ago, Max left for Alaska to find what he thought he'd lost, but now realizes just how much he left behind.
Max teaches Ace that sometimes a little crazy is exactly what life needs while learning that some chances are worth taking, regardless of the risks.
But how do you know when you've met the right person? And will they be prepared to experience one of life's biggest obstacles?
Falling in love isn't easy--but holding on to it is where the real challenge lies.
