Stand Alone
The first time I met Ian Kemp in the sparkling blue waters of St. Thomas, I was six years old and we shared a summer beneath the stars.
The second time I met Ian Kemp, he was a shell of the boy I once knew. Turbulent and infuriating, he refused my friendship at every turn. Like me, he was a casualty of life’s cruelty, but we were planets apart.
We’d both sought refuge on the island, hoping to find our anchor. Instead, we found each other and managed to reclaim our stars...until we both got swept away.
Someone Else's Ocean is not just a love story. It's about learning to live with the circumstances that life deals you and making the most out of them. This story had me hooked from the get-go. Every emotion of the characters jump off the page and you can't help but take them on as your own.
I loved Koti from the beginning. Of course, she's has her flaws, but that what makes her more real. She took what happened to her, broke, and then made something different for herself. I loved her story. Her best friend is a total riot. She too is broken and finding her way. I can't wait to get to read her story.
Ian. Poor dear Ian. My heart bled from him. Gah! I hated what his ex-wife put him through. It was so awful. His pain and anger drove him, until Koti came into his life. As much as he wanted to wallow in his grief, Koti brought the sunshine. He in turn was a constant comfort and security to her.
This story is full of emotion and healing. It will tear your heart out, make you laugh, and have you rooting for the characters at every turn.
