As most of you know, Tara Sivec is my go-to author. My must one-click. I would read the abc's if she published them. So to say I was excited that she was releasing a new series is an understatement. I'm also a Disney fanatic so the thought of a new Tara book that touched the theme of a Disney story made me ecstatic.
At the Stroke of Midnight is the first book in the Naughty Princess Club. Tara Sivec is the Queen of romantic comedy. From the first few pages, I was already laughing and I knew it was only going to get better. Cindy is a stay at home mom that does it all. She's proper and does as any proper woman should. Her life is turned completely upside down when her husband decides the grass is greener on the other side and up and leaves her, taking all the money with her. Now Cindy has no idea how she is going to pay her bills. On top of that, she is raising a very moody teenager.
We are soon introduced to Ariel and Isabelle. All three ladies live on Fairy Tale Lane. Each will have their own book in this series. Ariel and Isabelle aren't having the best of times either. I loved the relationship between the ladies. The banter and hilarity that ensues left me in stitches. Ariel is my home girl and I can't wait for her book.
I enjoyed both characters but I'll admit it took me a little for Cindy to win me over. At first, she was annoying and a little too much. Once I got to know her though, I fell in love with her. PJ Charming is sweet and romantic and completely swoon worthy. He's the perfect prince. Cindy and PJ's relationship was a slow burn that I couldn't get enough of. It took a little bit for PJ to warm up to Cindy. The back and forth between them though is hilarious.
At the Stroke of Midnight gave me everything I know and love from a Tara Sivec book. I laughed, a lot. I swooned, a lot. I laughed some more. I know I'll love the rest of the book in the series and I can't wait to get my hands on them. This book is a must read! I promise you won't be disappointed. Tara will leave you with a smile on your face. That goofy shit eating grin that gives you all the feels.
