I shouldn't be attracted to him...  but I am.
I definitely shouldn't want to sleep with him... but I do.

Is following my heart worth the risk of losing my vineyard and my legacy? Because in my family, there could be no greater betrayal than sleeping with the enemy.

I live in California with my only son, Blake. If you can't find me sitting behind a computer screen, then there's a good chance I'm sitting in the bleachers of a baseball stadium watching him play. I enjoy traveling to new places, meeting my readers and spending time with the love of my life, my very own second chance romance (Jack F'n Carter anyone?!!). :)

I know you have a million books to choose from and I am humbled, grateful and thankful each time you choose to read one of mine. Thank you and happy reading. <3

Ansel Bray, an artist known around the world for his tragic hiatus from the canvas.
Ansel Bray, a broody, handsome man not known by me, at all.
Long dark hair, blue eyes, and dimpled cheeks. I’ve never met her, but her image is imprinted in my mind. An angel muse who inspires me to paint again.
There is something about him. Something that spurs a need to be as close to him as possible. A need to find out why.
There is something about her. Something that draws me in. Something that urges me to find out what her presence means.
Why does the girl in his painting look so much like me?
Who is this girl, and why can I see her so vividly?
I shouldn’t fall in love with him.
I shouldn’t fall in love at all.
But fate plays her hand.
But fate has other plans.
The lines of my life will blur.
The needs of my heart will change.
What a beautiful mess we’ve made.

When August Ends by Penelope Ward

  A Standalone Contemporary Romance Novel

NY Times, USA Today, and #1 Wall Street Journal Bestselling Author Penelope Ward

RELEASE DATE: February 25, 2019

Noah stood up and walked off the porch to put his cigar out on the cement. When he returned, he remained standing across from me. I was reminded of just how tall he was as he towered over me. A breeze blew his scent—a mix of cigar and cologne—in my direction. The same smell saturated the shirt I was wearing. I could’ve breathed it in all night. His nearness was doing things to my body I hadn’t ever felt. Noah looked around. “You mentioned some stuff around here needs to be repaired. What specifically?” I blew out a breath. Even thinking about it was exhausting. “So much. I’d have to make a list.” “Why don’t you do that? Make a list. I’m pretty good with my hands. I’ll see if there’s anything I can help with while I’m here.” He’d lost me at pretty good with my hands. My imagination was running wild. Shit. I imagined those hands doing a lot of things—mostly to me. “I can’t let you do that.” “You’d be stupid not to take me up on it. I came for a change of pace, but the truth is, too much quiet isn’t good. I like to keep busy.” Biting my bottom lip, I shook my head. “I don’t know…” “Make the list,” he insisted. Noah was right. It would be dumb not to take him up on his offer. It wasn’t like there was anyone else knocking down our door to help. I tilted my head. “What would be in it for you?” His expression turned dark. “People don’t always have to have ulterior motives.” Suddenly feeling bold, I said, “I thought maybe you would want me to go out with you in exchange.” Did you hear that? It was a record screeching. I admit, that was ballsy, but being around him brought out my flirtatious side. Maybe his cologne and cigar smoke were going to my head. “You’re joking, right?” Okay. I shouldn’t have asked. “Actually, I—” “I’m practically old enough to be your father.” Really? That’s how he saw me? I knew he was older than me…but he didn’t seem that old. No way. I’d pegged him as early thirties, though I truly had no idea how old he was. I shook my head. “No, you’re not. That’s a lie. An older brother, maybe. How old are you?” Instead of answering, he took two steps forward. “Let me make something clear.” “Okay…” “I was not insinuating anything by offering to help. And I will not be asking you out, propositioning you, or going anywhere near you, for that matter. We clear on that?” Okay, then. I swallowed. Disappointment washed over me as I cleared my throat. “Yes.” “Good.” He made his way toward the door, turning around one last time. “You’d better go. It was nice chatting. Get me the list tomorrow.” He disappeared into the house, leaving me on the porch to wallow in his lingering smell and feeling like a complete and utter idiot.

What do you do when a sexy, older man moves into your family’s summer rental? Well, apparently, you make a fool of yourself—over and over. Things didn’t exactly get off on the right foot with Noah Cavallari. Our first encounter was embarrassing, to say the least. But despite that, I found myself waking up every day with a newfound energy. Nothing exciting ever happened on the lake—not until Noah moved into the small boathouse on our property. He’d booked it for the entire summer…and I was still trying to figure out why. When my mother became ill, I inherited the responsibility of making sure our guests were well taken care of. I should have been in college. Instead, I was living my best life…as a maid. Dark, handsome, and mysterious, everything about Noah screamed forbidden. I knew he was just passing through town for the summer. I knew he was probably too old for me. Yet, I was drawn to him. Not to mention, he tried to save my life when he mistakenly thought I was drowning. I wanted him and made no secret of it. His own attempts to warn me away soon gave way to late-night moonlight chats by the lake. We were slowly easing into a friendship that was gearing up to explode into something I might not recover from. Because he’s leaving at the end of the summer. And I have no idea what I’ll do when August ends.

The Sterling Ranch’s season opening isn’t going so smoothly. With the ranch’s lodge full of guests and a Montana blizzard threatening, Will Sterling needs help—and he needs it fast. So when his childhood friend Poppy Carmichael agrees to lend a hand, he’s grateful for a second chance…and more enticed by the woman she’s become than he cares to admit.

Weathering the storm in each other’s arms is all too easy for Will and Poppy, but will a confrontation with a killer mean their reunion is short-lived?

He groaned. “You aren’t making this any easier.” He was already short-staffed. Normally the guest ranch didn’t take guests this early in the season. Late spring and summer were the guest ranch’s busiest times, with a fall season for hunters. But a friend of their father’s had made a special request for Will to open for four days in March. Big Jack Hanson owned a small fly-fishing vest company outside of La Quinta, California, called On the Fly. Big Jack wanted to hold a retreat for some of his employees at Sterling Montana Guest Ranch, a place from his youth. He’d been uncompromising on when. Although anxious to get his first season running the guest ranch alone started, Will had tried to talk him out of it, reminding him what the weather could be like this time of the year in the mountains of Montana. Also that they would be short-staffed. Which meant that the guests would be making their own beds each day and taking care of the housekeeping in their cabins. Dorothea would be helping in the kitchen and making sure their guests had everything they needed from daily treats in their cabins to clean towels. “Sounds perfect,” Big Jack had said. “Won’t hurt them a bit to do for themselves for what time we’re there.” A charismatic, large man with red hair like a fireplug, blue eyes and a talent for hyperbole, Big Jack had offered to pay extra. “My crew needs this. I need this. You don’t have to roll out the red carpet or go to any trouble.” Spoken like a man who knew nothing about hosting guests. But Will had given in since, at one time, Big Jack had been like family. He knew his father would have wanted him to do whatever was necessary to accommodate Big Jack and his employees. At the sound of the shuttle van arriving from the airport down in the valley, Will knew he couldn’t be choosy about a cook. His guests would be expecting dinner tonight and since neither he nor Dorothea could do more than boil water… He called information for Poppy Carmichael’s number and was put right through. The moment she answered, he hesitated, reminding himself of why this was a bad idea on so many levels. He and Poppy had a history—and not a good one. True, it was twenty years ago, but still… Through the front window, he saw his guests begin to pile out of the van. They were all wearing what appeared to be new matching navy winter jackets with an On the Fly logo on the back and matching stocking caps. They looked tired from the long trek from the airport up into the mountains outside of Whitefish, Montana. They also already looked hungry. “Poppy?” He cleared his voice. “It’s Will. Will Sterling. Up at the Sterling guest ranch.” “Will.” The sound of her voice threw him for a moment. It was soft, refined, his name spoken on almost an amused breath. He plunged on. “My cook, Buckshot Brewster, broke his leg and I’m desperate, as I have guests arriving as we speak. Is there any way—” Dorothea was shaking her head and mumbling again about bad luck and this whole retreat already being cursed. “How long?” Poppy said on the other end of the line. “Four days starting today, Sunday. The guests leave Wednesday afternoon. If there is any way you can fit it into your schedule…” A soft laugh. “So you need me.” There was a small hesitation before she said, “Right away.” “Yes! I have nine guests that have to be fed tonight. I’m sorry for such short notice. If you can swing it, I’ll pay your going rate and a bonus at the end of the four days. What do you say? Buckshot brought most of the supplies up already and my brothers just delivered the rest, so I think we have everything you’ll need to cook up here. We have our own supply of beef, bison and elk, and plenty of canned goods. We just need a…cook.” An amused chuckle. “I see.”
I'm fairly new to B.J. Daniels. I started with Whitehorse, Montana: The McGraw Kidnapping series. I am always drawn to a good Western Romance, throw in Suspense and I'm totally in. So naturally I was excited for this new series. A sexy cowboy, a second chance friends-to-lovers romance, a storm and a mystery?! Sold!

However, it took me awhile to really get into Stroke of Luck. I had a hard time clicking with any of the characters. The repetitiveness of reminding the reader early on who each character was kept throwing off the flow for me, making it even more difficult to start connecting with the characters.

Once I kept going and began really getting into the story, and the connections between the characters, I started to find my pace, as well as, began enjoying the characters more. I love the Montana backdrop and, even though a little tamer sometimes, I find B.J.'s suspense full of page turning excitement.

I'm not sure this was a total win for me but I did enjoy it over all and can't wait to see what happens in the rest of the series.

NYT and USA Today Bestselling author B.J. Daniels was born in Texas but moved with her family to Montana at the age of five. Her first home was a cabin in the Gallatin Canyon and later a lake house on Hebgen Lake outside of West Yellowstone. Most of her books are set in Montana, a place she loves. She lives now in a unique part of the state with her husband and three Springer Spaniels. When she isn't writing, she loves to play tennis, boat, camp, quilt and snowboard. There is nothing she enjoys more than curling up with a good book.

New Release: Her Master's Reckoning (Masters #4) by Lily White

The highly anticipated final book in Lily White's Master series is here!!!! Grab your copy of Her Master's Reckoning today!!!

SERIES: Masters
RELEASE DATE: February 19, 2019

I was a Courtesan.

It was in an art gallery where I first met the man who would steal me away.

Ours was not a healthy relationship.
People would claim to be a Courtesan makes me weak.
I would tell them that to be Aiden's Courtesan, you must be strong.

That is what it means to live my life.
That is what it means to submit fully.
That is what it means to be a Courtesan.

Aiden believed I wasn't strong enough to overpower him.
He believed I wasn't smart enough to play his game.

It's finally my turn to take control.
It's my chance to prove to Aiden that all his beliefs are...

Braced against his desk, the tips of Aiden’s fingers slid against a half empty bottle. I plucked it from his reach, took a long swallow because in this moment I needed the liquid courage. I wasn’t sure where each of us stood. Not after last night. Not after I spoke the painful truth then left him to drown in the depths of it.
It had all been a game.
My game.
Yet I was the player who was cornered.
I placed the bottle down, careful to set it far from his reach.
My confession could affect him in multiple ways. Perhaps the alcohol was to my benefit.
“I want you to teach me again.”
He laughed, his shoulders shaking once with the bark of sound. Lifting his hand, he traced the back of one finger down the line of my jaw. “Look where that got us last time. How many more secrets do you need in order to bury me?”
“You’re drunk,” I accused.
A glimmer in his stare, mischievous and secretive. “Not so much that I don’t see the threat standing in front of me.” A roll of his shoulders, eyes closing and opening again. “The question is how drunk am I? Are you willing to chance that it’s not enough to weaken me?”
“I need help, Aiden, and you’re the only person who can show me what I want to know.”
Voice husky and deep. “Get on your knees and beg.”
“No,” was my immediate answer. “Not tonight. Not when it goes against why I’m here.”
Pulling his hand from my face, he wrapped his fingers over the edge of the desk, his biceps taut beneath his dress shirt, cold fire burning behind sapphire pools. “And what makes you think I’d so easily give all my tricks away? Especially when you have nothing to offer in return.”
It was shameful to admit a weakness, my pulse thrumming in my throat to confess failure. “I couldn’t do it, Master.” Shaking my head, I hated how easily the word fell from my lips, but in this he had me beat. My heart wasn’t stone. Not like his.
He was exhausted, his voice so abnormally soft. “What couldn’t you do, Pet?”
Air rattled in my lungs. “I couldn’t let him touch me.” My head hung down as if the failure was too heavy to bear, the truth too pathetic to speak louder than a whisper. Aiden would cling to that failure on my part. Would sip on it like the finest of champagne.
Seconds passed in silent contemplation, my words hanging heavy between us.
Aiden sighed, his frustration thick, “Maybe the universe doesn’t hate me so much after all.”

"Where you go, I go. Even if it's overboard."

Let me just say I'll go ANYWHERE with Jericho Forge. He was winning me over in Deal with the Devil and he has succeeded in cementing himself atop the list of favorite book boyfriends.  Luck of the Devil picks up right where Deal with the Devil left off. It  will continue to have you glued to the pages and you won't be able to read fast enough. There was a rollercoaster of emotions with this book. It's full of angst and I loved every single minute of it. EVERY. SINGLE. MINUTE.

You can't help but root for Jericho and India in this series. So many obstacles being thrown their way and twists I didn't see coming, played out.  Both characters grew so much in this book and I can't wait to see how the conclusion plays out.  I know that Meghan is going to bring it.
Meghan's writing is addictive and I can't get enough of it. I crave it. I HAVE to have it. Especially after the way this book just ended. I need that book, NOW!

Meghan March is giving away Four (4) $25 Amazon gift cards.
