Blog Tour: Past Heaven by Laura Ward

Not every love story has a happy ending. Some just change your life.

Liz Atwater’s happily ever after was torn from her the instant her husband, Jack, was murdered. She is forced to pick up the shattered pieces of her life and raise her three young sons alone.

Reynold Carter’s picture perfect Hollywood life ended the moment the paparazzi got hold of his girlfriend’s cheating scandal. As he watches his life unfold in the tabloids, he comes to a crossroads in his career and his purpose.

When Reynolds takes on the challenge of a new project, his world collides with that of Liz. Neither of them expected their professional relationship to evolve into friendship, or love.

But life is never simple.

Faced with complications from family, friends, and colleagues, Liz and Reynolds are left to decide whether two people from such different worlds can find happiness together.

Can they get past the pain, fear, and guilt and risk their hearts to love again?

Not every love story is just a happy ending. Some completely change your life.

What a heartfelt, emotional journey this book is. It is about moving on and finding love after the love of your life is ripped from you. How to do you do it? How do you find the strength?

Liz Atwater finds herself a widowed, single mother of three when her husband is murdered in front of her eyes. Though her heart is shattered, she had to find the strength to keep going for her boys. They are now her purpose, her only focus.

Reynolds Carter is a hot shot, mega star actor who is just coming out of a very pubic break up. He flies home to his parents to find some peace and perspective. While he is on sabbatical, he learns about Liz's husband is becomes inspired to tell his story. After a little convincing, Liz gets on board and, not only tells their story, but helps write the screenplay.

They both fall hard. Reynolds is more accepting of the fall. Liz is riddled with guilt for wanting another man, and is also afraid to risk her heart, and those of he children, on him. She knows he belongs in L.A. and to the Hollywood world, not in suburbia.

Past Heaven is Reynolds' story of finding himself and being true to that self in a world of fake. More importantly, it is Liz's story of healing. In her healing, she finds her true self and acceptance of her life and what it becomes. And her sweet boys... I fell in love with them. There was a time or two that I shed some tears for them, for the whole family. Underneath all the heartache and grief is love, old, new, and everlasting. The transformations in this story were heartwarming, showing there is life, and love, beyond tragedy.

Blog Tour Review: Slam by Holly S Roberts

Title: Slam
Series: The Completion Series #4
Author: Holly S. Roberts
Genre: Adult, Erotic/Sport Romance
Release Date: January 27, 2015

Olivia Stradmore, daughter to Senator Jonathan Stradmore, has one goal in life—win her fifth grand slam tennis title in as many years.

Olivia doesn’t have time for a stalker who disapproves of her less than modest life choices. She enjoys the occasional tennis pro in bed, short skirts, and the chance to free her wild side.

Her dreams take a turn when her stalker, known only as Ty, runs over her with a van and puts her in the hospital. Ty will stop at nothing to possess what he covets.

Enter bodyguard Brack Jacobs—hair too long, attitude too uptight, and body too damn hot.

Brack has a job to do and sleeping with a target is not in the target’s best interest. Doesn’t matter that Olivia is sexy as hell and bent on adding a notch to her bedpost with Brack’s name on it.

Life is not as straightforward as it seems and deadly consequences await them both.

Can Olivia change Brack’s mind and turn a spark of desire into a raging inferno? Will Brack survive the flames or would slam, bam, thank you ma’am be his safest bet?

- A Completion Sports Book. Expect erotic sex, an alpha male, and more balls than a girl knows what to do with.

I squealed as Brack flipped us over dislodging my hands. He was hard again. Or maybe his erection never left. I sat back on his thighs and admired his cock. Placing my fingers around the head, I squeezed gently.

“Harder,” he said with lust in his voice.

“Mmm, I want to suck.”

“What’s stopping you?” he asked gruffly.

I gripped harder like he asked. “I want you shooting off in my pussy this time.”

He closed his eyes for a moment. “Suck me first and that can be arranged.”
I didn’t care that I was a sticky mess. I wiggled off him until my knees hit the floor. He moved down a bit so I could comfortably reach him with my mouth. He propped himself on his arms and watched. I stuck my tongue out and licked just the tip. I didn’t always like the taste of men but Brack was yummy. When I’d sucked his cum from my fingers, I’d wanted to go back for seconds. I flicked my tongue against him watching his reaction. It wasn’t much. I knew he liked it hard. I wrapped my lips around the head and sucked a little as I circled his balls with one hand and his cock with the other.

Saliva pooled in my mouth as I took him deeper. At the same time, I put additional pressure around his cock. My lips met my fingers and I sucked while bobbing my head. His groan had me tightening my fingers even harder.

“I want to grab your hair but I’m afraid I’ll hurt your head,” he moaned out on a ragged breath.

His cock slipped from my mouth as I looked up. He stared at the stream of saliva between his dick and my lips. I smiled. “I’m fine, do what feels good.”

His eyes met mine as he placed his fingers in my hair and pushed my mouth to his cock again. I opened wide and took him deeper.

“Fuck me you’re good at this.”

I didn’t take it the wrong way—I was good at this. The second lover in my life, an Australian tennis pro, spent a lot of time teaching me fellatio. He wasn’t into returning the favor frequently and I finally kicked him to the sideline. He came out of the closet a year ago and it all made sense. But who better to teach about blowjobs than a gay man? I didn’t feel comfortable enough to practice my skills with most of the men I slept with. Brack was different. I wanted his cock. And like most things in my life, I took what I wanted.

I love this Completion Series. Each book is completely different and can be read as a standalone. The others have been super fun and sexy. Slam had an extra added element, mystery!
Olivia is a senator’s daughter and a tennis pro. She is young and hot and living her dream. That is until a stalker is out for her. What does every celebrity with a stalker need? A HOT BODYGUARD!!!

Brack is big, scary and sexy on a stick. His number one job is to keep Olivia safe. Olivia’s number one job? Seduce Brack. The chemistry between Brack and Olivia is tangible. It was so powerful, I was completely sucked into the book. I could not put it down.

I loved how this book was different from the others. I loved the mystery behind the stalker. Who was it? When would they strike again? The push pull from the characters was also amazing. Sometimes, it becomes too much and I can’t angry about it but in this book, there was just the right about of angst.
I will say that the ending threw me off. It was not what I was expecting and turned me off a little. But all and all, this was a fantastic book, I just wish the ending was different.

If you haven’t picked up a Completion Series book yet, please do! You will not be disappointed! And if you like a mystery, you NEED this book.

Holly S. Roberts is the USA Today Best-Selling Author of “Play” the first book in the completion series. Blog Tour: Sever by J.M. Miller

One simple decision can end a future.
One simple persuasion can sever a life.

The moment Annisyn Kane slips her rake pick into the lock of a stranger's door, the straight life she's led the last few years is scratched out. In the past, the goal was never theft. It was to escape. From life. From death. To quiet the dreams that replayed an affliction she longed to forget. This night, though, was different. She was out of options.

The isolated house was supposed to be an easy target. In and out. No problems. But the simple job takes a twisted turn when Annisyn comes face to face with the only real love she ever had.

Five years ago, she could have persuaded Damian Mead to stay. But she wasn't willing to be the end of his future, so she let him go. Before the emotions from their tangled past have a chance to spin between them, Annisyn discovers that their startling encounter is the least of the night's problems. There's someone else in the house who has issues with the past, and the only thing on his mind is revenge.

*recommended ages 17+ for mature content*

Wow! Just Wow... This book is an absolute gem. It is a thrilling, tense, emotional roller coaster from start to finish. From the second I started this book, every time I was forced, (FORCED) to put this book down it was absolute torture. This is a story that you devour, that you lose yourself in.

Annisyn, Syn, is a girl with a troubled past. She's has it rough and the stigma of that past follows her wherever she goes. No matter where or what she does, she can't escape. So, she becomes hard, confident, and uncaring about what her actions will lead to. Until Damian.

Then, we have Damian. Oh, Damian. *Swoon* I fell hard for him. He's sweet, sexy, shy, determined, etc., etc. etc. In other words perfect. He is the opposite of Syn, but they are SO perfect for each other. They bring out the best in the other. Their love and emotions are so tangible, they just jump off the page.

This story is told in the past and present perspectives. The two had parted in a tough way, but are now being held hostage together. And oh boy are those moments of captivity tense. I don't know how many times my gut tensed. I was nervous, angry, and well, tense. I just wanted to jump in the book and save them myself! Underneath the tension though, you feel their sadness and longing. You just want them to survive and love again.

J.M. Miller delivers a story that any angst junky will love. There are dark parts, and parts filled with light, love, and joy. Sever has it all. This is a book that you do not want to pass up!

"You okay?" Damian shifted beside me, rubbing his arm against mine in the process. The binds at our elbows were now tied together and secured to the lowest wood railing of the stairs.

I wiggled my arms, but there was very little room to move. Looking down at the material connecting our ankles, I wondered if there was another way to get free. "Aside from the headache, yeah. You?"

Damian didn't look at me. His eyes remained forward, staring blankly off toward the kitchen. We were farther from the light, but I could still see each of his features: the eyes that would look at me like I was the only other person alive, the thin nose that would brush my skin whenever he kissed the back of my neck, the plump lower lip that he'd sometimes bite when I dug my fingernails into his back.

He nodded. "I'm fine. Now, are you gonna tell me what you're doing in my house?"

Great. There was no easy way to answer. It was probably best to just say it. "I broke in."

He exhaled a puff of air and shook his head. "Of course you did."

J.M. Miller currently consumes her coffee in Florida. When she isn't busy being distracted by social media sites, she writes Young Adult and New Adult romance novels that vary in genre from contemporary to paranormal, with a little mystery thrown in for fun.
Aside from spending time with her family, she loves to travel and will jump at the chance to go anywhere, whenever life allows.
