Release Blitz: The Knight by Skye Warren

Grab THE KNIGHT by Skye Warren NOW! “Positively sinful, and outrageously sexy! Emotions run high and readers will be left gasping.” – New York Times bestselling author Lisa Renee Jones

The power of pleasure…
Gabriel Miller took everything from me. My family. My innocence. My home. The only thing I have left is the determination to get back what’s mine. He thinks he’s beaten me. He thinks he’s won. What he doesn’t realize is that every pawn has the chance to become a queen. And the game has only just begun. THE KNIGHT is book two in the Endgame series from New York Times bestselling author Skye Warren about revenge and seduction in the game of love.

The Knight by Skye Warren is another wonderfully dark read. Whenever I'm in the mood for a dark and sexy read, I know I can always count on this author.

If you haven't read the first book, The Pawn, it is a must. This book picks up right where The Pawn left off, so you will be lost without reading it first. That being said, I love this series. The author wraps this story in a tangle of lies and mystery. I was so intrigued that I read this book in one sitting. I just had to know what happens.

I want to hate Gabriel, but I just can't. He's dark, dangerous, and totally alpha. Just when I think he is the biggest jerk, he shows a sweet, caring, protective side. I just keep falling for this character.

Of course, the story doesn't totally wrap up. We get the pleasure of at least one more book, The Castle. As someone who hate cliffhangers, I can honestly say that these books do not end in one. Yes, there is more to the story, but we aren't left hanging off of a precipice. We are just left wanting more!

I’m safe in the ivory tower Gabriel Miller made for me. That’s what he says. Enemies lurk outside,
waiting to strike. An army of enemies held back by these walls. Except some animal instinct warns me the danger is much closer. It’s already here. Is Gabriel Miller my protector or my enemy? Is this house a castle or a cage? There’s nowhere for me to go, no one left for me to trust. No escape from a past determined to capture its prize.

The Bachelor Auction by Rachel Van Dyken

THE BACHELOR AUCTION by Rachel Van Dyken (January 31, 2017; Forever Mass Market Paperback; $7.99; The Bachelors of Arizona Book 1)

The first book in an all-new contemporary romance series from #1 New York Times bestselling author Rachel Van Dyken.

Cinderella never had to deal with this crap.

Jane isn't entirely sure that Cinderella got such a raw deal. Sure, she had a rough start, but didn't she eventually land a prince and a happily-ever-after? Meanwhile, Jane is busy waiting on her demanding, entitled sisters, running her cleaning business, and . . . yep, not a prince in sight. Until a party and a broken shoe incident leave Jane wondering if princes---or at least, a certain deliciously hunky billionaire---maybe do exist.

Except Brock Wellington isn't anyone's dream guy. Hell, a prince would never agree to be auctioned off in marriage to the highest bidder. Or act like an arrogant jerk---even if it was just a fa├žade. Now, as Brock is waiting for the auction chopping block, he figures it's karmic retribution that he's tempted by a sexy, sassy woman he can't have. But while they can't have a fairy-tale ending, maybe they can indulge in a little bit of fantasy . . .

I was lucky enough to review the paperback version with it's beautiful cover. The Bachelor Auction was my first Rachel Van Dyken book. I was sucked in by the cover and the synopsis. Who doesn't love a modern version fairytale?

The Bachelor Auction is the story of Brock and Jane. Both have a hard time saying no and both come from completely different back grounds. Brock is wealthy billionaire who runs his family's company. Jane also runs her family's company..a cleaning company.

Jane is your modern day Cinderella. Bratty, wretched sisters included. Seriously, I hate those sisters. Jane is sweet and caring and for the life of her can't say no. She is basically the slave to her sisters. There was many times this drove me insane. I wanted to reach through the book and slap all three of them. Jane is someone you can't help but love though. She loves with all of her heart.

Brock has done what everyone wants him to do. He went to Harvard because that is what he was supposed to do. He has taken over the company because that is what he was bred for. Unfortunately, running a company doesn't leave much time for a love life. Because of this, the share holders and his grandfather come up with this hair brained scheme to auction him off to the highest bidder.
Sounds great to everyone..except Brock.

Throw in some crazy animals, a pair of equally crazy twin brothers and a meddling grandfather and you have yourself a book full of laughs, love, and a fairytale ending.

I really wanted to love this book. I truly did. There were just too many times I couldn't connect with the characters. The fact that they both had zero backbone for most of the book didn't help. This won't detour me from picking up another Rachel Van Dyken book. I will gladly give her another shot. Maybe this book just wasn't for me.

Reunited by Felice Stevens

Ryder Daniels and Jason Mallory seem to have it all but even the most loving marriage takes work. Ryder's past leads him to remain silent yet resentful in the face of conflict while Jason strives to prove he can take care of his family without Ryder's wealth, even if it costs him precious time with his husband and daughter.

When a devastating illness leaves them shaken and helpless, Ryder is forced to face the one person he never thought to see again with a life or death request that even he isn't sure will be granted, but his decisions have far-reaching consequences. Believing he and Ryder have no secrets, Jason is distraught to discover otherwise, revealing yet another crack in their once-perfect relationship.

Adrift and uncertain, both struggle to hold onto a love previously thought unshakable. A forbidden past is exposed, shocking Ryder to the core, but it means little without Jason by his side. Marriage is a true partnership and both men must learn that only by working through their pain and heartbreak together can they achieve a lifetime of love.

I love when I fall so in love with a couple and they have a happy ending.  I love it even more when that some couple comes back to me unexpected and has lived life the way that I wanted them to.  That is pretty much what happens with Jason and Ryder.  After all of the bad, I was so happy to be able to reunite with them and get a little more insight into their lives.

Life has been good for the both of them since the last book.  They got married, moved into Jason's house, still have the 2 dogs who are like children to them, and Oh Yea.....had a baby.  A little girl named Gemma who is the perfect angel that they deserve.  Unfortunately we know how life goes. Things can only go so good and eventually you get a dose of the unexpectedness of life and hope that it doesn't break you along the way.

Before we can even get to love Gemma, we find out that she is a very sick little girl.  The only thing that can save her is a life saving event and there is only one person that can help her.  Unfortunately, it is that god awful mother of Ryder's that we hoped we had seen the end of. Really, we knew that was not going to happen and somehow she was going to turn back up one way or another.

Honestly, I didn't know how this was going to work out.  Jason has the perfect family.  His parents are the ever present treats that we all wish that we had in our lives.  His siblings are amazing and always there whether they are wanted or not.  Ryder has had a much better relationship with his dad (for whom you get a TOTALLY different perspective on) and his brother is still one of the highlights in his life ( Landon is still dating Jason's sister, Jessie.  I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to read that story soon....just saying Felice if you are reading this....).  It was fun to see the Ying and Yang of Ry and Jason's families and see a lot of my family in there. I literally want to jump into their house and just be a part of the love that they feel.

If course, I had some issues along the way.  There were times that I really wanted to shake one or both of the guys along the way.  The feels that I got from this book was heartbreaking at times and heartwarming at others.  I can't imagine having to have to live with my child in a situation like that.  I thought that the topic was handled with love and affection and showed what it could do to even the strongest of couples.  I loved that we got to see more of Connor and Emma, Liam, Mark and John along the way.

I am very much looking forward to reading John's book and I hope we get to see more of Ryder and Jason along the way.  (and maybe a book about Landon and Jessie--please)

Four-year-old Gemma’s plaintive cry split the night. Ryder squinted at the glowing numbers on the digital clock next to his bed. Three a.m. Shit. Nothing good ever happened at this hour of the night, or morning, if he wanted to get technical. Maybe it was a bad dream, even though Gemma rarely woke up at night anymore.

He settled down beneath the warmth of the comforter, preparing to fall back asleep. Jason moved closer to him, and Ryder slid his foot down Jason’s calf, relishing the scrape of his hairy leg. As long as he was up, it shouldn’t be a total loss. Ryder kissed Jason’s naked shoulder and licked up his strong neck, the steady pulse of life quickening beneath his lips. Jason’s sighs spurred him on, and Ryder smiled to himself, unsure whether his husband was fully awake, but that didn’t stop him from palming Jason’s ass and giving it a hard squeeze.

“Daddy, please. Come.”

Damn. No use. Fully awake now, Ryder slid out of bed, immediately missing Jason’s solid heat. Longingly he gazed back down at him splayed out in the center of the bed and shook his head with dismay. The man worked too damn hard. Jason had collapsed after they put Gemma to sleep the night before, barely able to stifle his yawns long enough to eat dinner. Mallory Brothers Construction had taken off in the past few years, and though Jason and Liam had hired several other architects and construction engineers to help alleviate the load of work they took on, Jason still tried to be as hands-on as possible. He and Ryder had numerous discussions about his long hours and how they kept him from being home with Gemma, but Jason insisted his presence was necessary, and Ryder backed off, unwilling to argue about it.

The past few weeks, Ryder tried to push dinner later and later, but Gemma had fallen asleep at the dinner table too many times for that to remain feasible. He loved the quiet times at night when they’d sit together and he’d read her a bedtime story, but Ryder missed having Jason beside him, sharing those special moments. The last thing Ryder wanted was for Jason to work so hard he missed Gemma’s childhood; his own father had missed his and Landon’s childhoods by burying himself in his work. Ryder wouldn’t allow Jason to do that, but he had to find a way to tell Jason without him getting upset.

“What’s wrong?” Jason mumbled, his face buried in the pillow. “I had a dream someone was copping a feel.” He turned his cheek on the pillow and mustered a tired smile. “Thought I was gonna get lucky.”

“You were about to, but Gemma woke up before I could make your dreams come true. Go back to sleep, babe.” Ryder leaned down to kiss Jason’s stubble-rough cheek. “She probably had a bad dream.”

“Mmm. Well, hurry back. I was dreaming of the beach, and you were my hot cabana boy.” He wiggled his ass. “I’m ready for my massage.”

Ryder snorted and rolled his eyes. “You’re insane.” But he couldn’t help kissing Jason’s smooth shoulder again. “Be right back,” he whispered against Jason’s skin, but all he received was an answering sleepy sigh.

I have always been a romantic at heart. I believe that while life is tough, there is always a happy ending around the corner, my characters have to work for it, however. Like life in NYC, nothing comes easy and that includes love.

I live in New York City with my husband and two children and hopefully soon a cat of my own. My day begins with a lot of caffeine and ends with a glass or two of red wine. I practice law but daydream of a time when I can sit by a beach somewhere and write beautiful stories of men falling in love. Although there is bound to be a few bumps along the way, a Happily Ever After is always guaranteed.

Good Boy by Sarina Bowen and Elle Kennedy

Good Boy (WAGs, #1)

Hosting her brother’s wedding for an MVP guest list is the challenge of Jess Canning’s life. Already the family screw-up, she can’t afford to fail. And nobody (nobody!) can learn of the colossal mistake she made with the best man during a weak moment last spring. It was wrong, and there will not be a repeat. Absolutely not. Even if he is the sexiest thing on two legs.

Blake Riley sees the wedding as fate’s gift to him. Jess is the maid of honor and he’s the best man? Let the games begin. So what if he’s facing a little (fine, a lot) of resistance? He just needs to convince the stubborn blonde that he’s really a good boy with a bad rap. Luckily, every professional hockey player knows that you’ve got to make an effort if you want to score.

But Jess has more pressing issues to deal with than sexy-times with a giant man-child. Such as: Will the ceremony start on time, even though someone got grandma drunk? Does glitter ever belong at a wedding? And is it wrong to murder the best man?

Caution: May cause accidental aspiration of tea or coffee. Do not read in a public place where loud laughter is inappropriate. Contains hot but hilarious hockey players, puppy cuddling and a snarky pair of underwear

I have so been wanting to get more of Blake Riley ever since I got to know him in Us.  He is freaking hysterical and why would you not want more laughter in your life.  I knew all along that he and Jessie got it on,  Now we have the details and who would have thought it all started with a massage chair.

I will say that I didn't know if I was going to like Jessie as much as I did.  She seemed to be a big flip flopper and those kind of characters tend to drive me insane.  As I read more about her, I got to know more about what she was about and I couldn't help but want to love her.
Now add in Blake and you have the makings for one heck of a couple.  You can see that she is fighting everything along the way and that she does not want to fall for the hysterical Blake.  Lucky for us he is irresistible and she falls for him hook line and sinker.

It is not to say that this book is all fun and games.  Along the way we meet up with children in a cancer wing, a crazy ex-girlfriend and sisters who may or may not have huge noses that butt into everyone's business.   We get to reunite with Wes and Jamie also!!  Yea!!  I love those 2!!

Honestly Elle Kennedy and Sarina Bowen could write a book on Ritz crackers and it would be amazing.  These 2 work so well together and bounce off of each other so well you can guarantee anything that they write will be amazing balls.   Whether it is M/M or M/F I would read it just because I know I am going to love it!!

Stay (WAGs, #2)

I am happy to announce that Stay will be here in mid-June!!  I am so exited to read the next book in the WAGS series!!

Put this puppy on your TBR list ASAP!!  https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/32967547-stay

“I’m a thirsty man, darlin’. Got a tall, cool one for me?”
She already knew the man attached to the voice but couldn’t believe the punch of heat between them when she turned. Raven had dated a lot of men. Slept with a lot, too. She knew about dating, flirting, and teasing and wasn’t scared of anything. She knew about dirty, delicious, mind-blowing sex. She knew about mornings after and speedy Batman disappearances in the ugly dawn light. But this man wiped all her expertise away with one bat of those dark lashes or a tug of those full lips.
Dalton Pierce.
A man she’d vowed to hate and the one man she was crazy attracted to.
A man who held the key to a past she didn’t want to unlock.
Raven turned and studied him. Cocky, as always. Charming, as usual. He was a visual feast for the female sex and knew it. Tawny, goldstreaked strands, worn long, framed his face. He liked to tie them back or put them in a man bun, which should look ridiculous but only made him that much hotter ’cause he didn’t care. Peacockblue eyes so bright and so deep, if she stared too long she’d never come back up for air. Square jaw with sexy scruff to keep him from looking too pretty, and actual dimples when he smiled. The sun had turned his skin tan and a bit rough. His hands were calloused, and he always smelled like varnish, lemon, and a faint hint of Hershey’s chocolate. Sawdust clung to his black T-shirt, and his jeans had holes in the knees.
Dalton was the ultimate Achilles’ heel for any walking, breathing female who’d sworn off men. Thank goodness he’d never be able to bust through her barriers. They were so thick and tall, he’d get bashed in the head each and every time he tried.
Yet the oddest shimmer of connection always sparked to life when they were close. As if the universe was playing the ultimate joke, forcing her to be attracted to the one man she could never be with.
The past surged up like a tsunami and dragged her under.
