Blog Tour Review: Turn of the Moon by LP Dover

Title: Turn of the Moon
Series: Royal Shifters, #1
Author: L.P. Dover
Genre: PNR/Shifter
Published: August 24, 2015

One girl. Two wolves. Promised to one. Destined for the other.
To escape the cruel, overbearing, Kade, the Yukon Pack alpha she’s been promised to, Bailey Whitehill flees her home in search of a new life, one of freedom where she can make her own choices. However, Kade will stop at nothing to make her his and begins the hunt.
As Bailey starts her new life, everything she’s known to be true, is not. Time is of the essence and choices have to be made or consequences suffered. Not only does Bailey fear Kade, but another danger lurks deep in the recesses of the forest. Unbeknownst to her, that danger is what she’s been searching for all along. At the turn of the moon, her fate hangs in the balance . . . and it’s up to her to make the right choice.

“The storyline was excellent and I wasn't bored at all. The pacing was smooth and kept my attention.” ~ Author Andrea Heltsley
“Holy Mother of Alpha Males! Need a new book boyfriend?! look no further.”  ~Goodreads Reviewer
“Overall, Turn of the Moon was a great read and definitely a must read for fans of paranormal and romantic suspense alike. I can't wait for the next book in the series!” ~Life With 2 Boys

LP Dover says this is her first “dabble” into paranormal romance and I pray it won’t be her last. She totally NAILED this book. I am a huge PNR fan but find I get nervous reading an author that I am unfamiliar with because not everyone can create a world that doesn’t exist (or does it?)  I’ve read another LP Dover book and liked it so I gave Turn of The Moon a shot. I was sucked into this story on the first page. I was glued to my kindle and I didn’t care about the world around me because the world I was engrossed in was way better.

Bailey our heroine is just that. She is an alpha female wolf who doesn’t allow herself to be mated with a male alpha who was our villain, Kade. Kade was awful. Like I cheered on while Kade got his ass beat.

Ryker is Bailey’s true mate and he was downright delish. I fell for him within two pages of meeting him. He was truly Bailey’s equal and the love he had for her was amazing.

Besides being an amazing PNR, this story had an element of mystery to it. The story was so dimensional that it was such a joy to read. There are so many great side characters that I hope this series dives into all of them. If I had one complaint about this book it would be that I wish the sex scenes were a bit longer, more sensual and maybe a bit dirtier. I felt like it started off well but then all of sudden they were done. BUT saying that I loved this book HARD and will be a paranormal romance I recommend to my friends

There was a time when I lived for the pack, when I would do anything to save my people. The white wolves were slowly reducing in number, and now everyone was desperate, struggling to make ends meet before we were wiped into extinction. I was twenty-four years old, and a daughter of the Northern pack alpha. It was my duty to continue my lineage. The only problem was, there were no other unmated alphas around other than my best friend, Sebastian, and the supreme douche, Kade Whitemore.
There was no way in hell I was going to alliance myself with that rat bastard. He was alpha of the Yukon pack, violent, and an overbearing ass who’d rather see me on my back with my legs spread open than being his equal. I’d rather die than be forced to be his mate for all eternity. Why couldn’t I mate with Sebastian? Thinking of fucking him gave me the willies, but anything was better than Kade.
Anger racked my body and I sat there, seething . . . until I felt him. He was coming for me; I could sense him drawing near. The closer we got to the meadow, the more I could smell Kade and his excitement—his lust. Hopefully, he could smell the rage and disgust coming from me.

Review: Newly Exposed by Meghan Quinn

Adam James is a corn-fed, Nebraska raised, piece of man meat with a chiseled body and baby face. He is in desperate need of a paycheck and will do just about anything to get one, including stripping down to his skivvies and lathering up in baby oil.

Solo Cohan is a quirky hipster with a strong work ethic, raised by two gay dads who are head over heels in love with Harrison Ford and Star Wars, hence the name, Solo. She works for Teeg Model Management, the same modeling agency that decides to book Adam as their next up and coming model. Sparks ignite between her and Adam the minute her baby oil soaked hand connects with his practically naked body.

Even though Solo can't stop thinking about Adam during photo shoots, she quickly and awkwardly, shows Adam her distaste for male models and her inability to engage romantically with them. Adam is captivated by her nerdy talk and peculiar tendencies and sets out to make it his mission to turn the Star Wars loving hipster to the dark side, where mingling with models is widely arousing.

Meghan Quinn is one of the wittiest writers I have ever read. Her mind is something I want to crawl into and see how she comes up with her brilliant lines.

“Death by sex with my muffin… what a way to go.”
"I prefer to say... grooming the Wookie."

The one liners are enough to have you laughing out loud one second and swooning the next. This book is so geeky and nerdy that so enjoyable. The heroine’s name was Solo as in Star Wars. She was awesome. The find of character that makes you want to best friends with her. Adam was a hottie in need of money and got roped into modeling, a world he had no idea about. I absolute loved how innocent he was and how wasn’t a cocky jerk like the rest of the Teeg models.  The characters are so likable that you never want to hit any characters over the head with your kindle.
The sex in this story was off the charts. Every sex scene was different from the last and had me fanning myself a few times.

Newly Exposed was a fantastic book to get lost in and I will forever be a Meghan Quinn fan. I really hope she makes a series with the Teeg Model family. The side characters were just great and added so much to the story and left me wanting more of them.

I received an ARC for a honest review.

When I was in high school I occasionally read books but was consumed by other teenage things so I didn't take the time to appreciate a good book on a cloudy day, wrapped up in a blanket on the couch. It wasn't until I received a Kindle for Christmas one year that my world completely flipped upside down. When looking for books I came across the Contemporary Romance genre and was sold and I haven't turned back since.

You can either find my head buried in my Kindle, listening to inspiring heart ripping music or typing away on the computer twisting and turning the lives of my characters while driving my readers crazy with anticipation.

I currently reside in beautiful Colorado Springs where the sun is always shining and there is a trail waiting to be hiked on every corner. I share a lovely and warm home with the love of my life and my five, four-legged children.

Blog Tour & Review: Find Me by Laurelin Paige

Title: Find Me (The Found Duet, Book 2)
Author: Laurelin Paige

Gwen Anders came to The Sky Launch to begin fresh, away from the horrors of her past. She fit in quickly, becoming good friends with her co-manager, Alayna Withers and the owner of the club, Hudson Pierce. Though the circumstances that brought her here were not the best, she's never felt more at home.

But starting a new life means letting go. And there are some things she doesn't want to leave behind - like JC, the man who taught her how to let loose. The man she wasn't supposed to fall in love with. The man she doesn't want to lose.

Now, with the reason she ran still a threat, Gwen fears she'll never be able to move on completely. And if she does, can she still hold out hope that JC loves her enough to come and find her?

I have been anxiously waiting to get my hands on Find Me by Laurelin Paige since I stumbled off the cliffhanger ending of Free Me. I couldn't wait to see how Gwen and JC's story would continue. If you haven't read Free Me (Book One) yet, you must before diving into Find Me.

In Free Me, Gwen and JC find themselves succumbing to their undeniable chemistry and exploring the possibilities their connection provides. That is until life intervenes and threatens to destroy the foundation JC and Gwen have built. Vague enough for you? I don't want to spoil anything for those who haven't cracked open this series.

In Find Me, we pick up where book one left off and see what our hero and heroine have been up to. I wanted to see how the duo would navigate their obstacles. The passion between Gwen and JC blazed during Free Me, but now that reality has interrupted, I was curious to know if their lust fueled haze had actual longevity and potential for a happily ever after.

What I truly enjoyed about Find Me was how perfectly it concluded Gwen and JC's story. Any lingering questions about JC's past are sorted out in the pages of this second book. I was also quite shocked to see how Gwen was handling certain aspects of her life since we last checked in with her in Free Me. This story tests the strength of JC and Gwen's relationship and throws plenty of drama their way. Laurelin Paige knows how to lure a reader in with an enticing plot and irresistible characters. She can take a familiar motif and spin it in a way that is fresh and entertaining.

Readers will not be disappointed by Laurelin Paige's Found Duet. There's an inferno of passion, and abundance of drama, and an ending that will leave you swooning.
