We Own Tonight by Corinne Michaels

From New York Times, USA Today, and Wall Street Journal Bestselling author Corinne Michaels, comes a sexy new STANDALONE romance novel.

WE OWN TONIGHT is available now!

I’m not a one-night stand kind of woman. I’m especially not the woman who has a few drinks at a concert and ends up in bed with my childhood celebrity crush, Eli Walsh.

However, that’s exactly where I find myself.

What’s a girl to do after a drunken mistake? Run. I grab my clothes and get away from the powerful, irresistible, and best-sex-of-my-life superstar as fast as I can. His gorgeous green eyes, rock-hard body, and cocky smile have no place in my world. My life is complicated enough.

Someone forgot to tell him that.

Eli is relentless. Pushing his way into my heart, wearing me down, proving he’s nothing like I assumed, and everything I need. But when my world shatters to pieces, he holds the broken bits together. Unwillingly, I fall desperately in love with him.

He made me think we’d have forever . . . I should’ve listened when he said we could only own tonight.

We all have to be honest.  We all have that secret pass if we were ever to meet our celebrity crush we have the pass to do as we please.  Now we know that the chances of that happening are nil to none, but the thought is always exciting.  As I read We Own Tonight, I kept thinking about this and who it would be.  I have to say that in my head, no one would live up to Eli in this book.  He is one sexy man through and through and you are definitely going to fall in love with him along the way.

Jacobs Ladder: Gabe by Katie Ashley

Meet Gabe in Jacob’s Ladder - A new rock star romance
from Katie Ashley releasing this fall!

Add Jacob’s Ladder: Gabe to your TBR: http://bit.ly/2eKxkZN

As the lead songwriter for Jacob’s Ladder, the last thing Gabe Renard needs is a debilitating case of writer’s block. After years of meaningless one night stands, he's finding it hard to pen the love-filled ballads the label is requesting. In an effort to clear his mind, Gabe takes his jeep off-roading in the North Georgia Mountains. When a wrong-turn leads to him getting stuck more than just creatively, he’s forced to call for help. To his surprise, the “Ray” who has been sent by Hart Wreckers to his aid is actually “Rae”—a sexy-as-hell spitfire in a pair of tight-as-hell jeans. The combination of Rae’s sassy mouth and rocking body might be the inspiration Gabe needs. But for the first time since becoming a rock star, his advances have been shot down.

Reagan Hart has never been a fan of musicians. In fact, just the mention of one might cause her to throw a tire tool. Her disgust for them started when she was just eight and her mother ran off with a traveling country singer, and it only worsened when at seventeen, her rocker boyfriend knocked her up before blowing out of town. As a single mother taking care of her family's collision business, Rae doesn't have time for hook ups, much less a relationship. And if she did make time, a musician would be last on her list, even one as good-looking as Gabe Renard.

Can Gabe find the words to prove not only to Rae, but himself, that she’s the only one for him?

One Night is a fun, sexy, quick read. Like Plus One, I really wanted to love One Night. Unfortunately I just didn't connect with it as much I as I had hoped. The characters are very likeable but there were aspects of their meeting and then later in their relationship journey that I just couldn't get on board with. Amanda is a widowed single mom who hasn't been with anyone since the loss of her husband. You're very understanding of her situation. She's had to be two parents and somewhere along the line forgot to take care of herself. In steps Malcom. There is a deep and quick connection between the two. They had an undeniable chemistry. But, and it will sound strange to say this because we all want that man who is understanding and patient, I had wished he wouldn't have been so understanding and had pushed for more from Amanda at certain points. I could respect she had waited, I could respect wanting to protect her son, even herself, but sometimes it was just a little frustrating. Regardless, One Night is one of those grab a glass of wine and stay in and chill kind of reads. There are plenty of light moments and definitely some steamy sexy moments to keep you turning page after page.

I think I liked One Night a tad bit more then Lara.  I had not read the first book in the series, so I was not sure what to expect.  I love to read books where there is a child involved.  Most of the time, the child is really funny and makes the book for me.  That being said, Jase did not disappoint.  He made the book just that much better for me.
I will say though that there were times that I wondered how these 2 characters could possibly be so stupid.  Even I could see that Mandy/Malcom were the 2 from blind dates from their friends.  I kinda felt that they were teenagers waiting to get caught the amount of times they seemed to have sex in cars.  Once the cat was out of the bag however, I felt like the book took a turn and the story developed a little more for me.
I loved Malcom and Mandy as main characters.  They both have been dealt some junk in their lives and each of them was able to see the best in themselves and dig out from the pile and see the end of the tunnel.  That being said, there is lots of hot sex in this book that will make you want to keep reading on.  The story is relatable and isn't so far out there that it makes it boring or hard to read.  All in all, it is a good, fast paced book to read when you are looking for a little spice in your reading.

Mandy When we finally pull apart, before I can speak or even contemplate what happened, Malcolm's blue eyes shine down on me, taking me in and reading me. His voice rumbles through the background commotion of the bar. “You taste like sweet wine and smell like perfume and desire.” Warmth fills my cheeks. “You taste like good beer.” “Good? You're a beer connoisseur?” I shrug. “Mostly, I know cheap beer.” He lifts my chin, bringing his indigo eyes into focus. The room disappears, making those blue orbs all I can see. “I'm a connoisseur,” he says as his thumb gently rubs over my bruised lips. “And you, beautiful Mandy, if you were a beer, would never be a cheap one. No, you're a rich custom craft brew. I see it in your eyes, feel it in your touch, and smell it in the air. Kissing a stranger isn't something you do, is it?” I try to move my eyes away, but Malcolm's grip of my chin is unrelenting. Meeting his gaze, I reply, “No. I won't even bore you with how long it's been since I've kissed a real man.” His eyes sparkle. “You kiss fake men?” “Boys. Well, only one actually.” “You kiss boys...” And then, as if the reality of his statement hits home, he asks, “You have a son?” My heart flutters, its speed increasing by the second. “I do, but I don't want to talk about him. Not because he isn't important for he is—he's my world—but because tonight isn't about him. It's about me.” I can't gauge Malcolm's reaction. I can only guess that he's assuming that I'm some needy woman trying to get a man to take on the responsibility of a kid who isn't his. I reach out and splay my fingers over his chest. His heart is beating to match mine. “I don't want to talk about him,” I continue, “because he'll never know about you—I'll never tell him and never introduce you. Don't worry. I'm not after a man to rescue me. I'm perfectly content with my life as a mother. I just wanted to remember what it felt like to be a woman...for just one night.” “I'm not anti-children—” I shake my head. “Stop. That doesn't matter.” It’s then that I notice the filled glasses on the table and laugh. “When did the waitress come?” Malcolm bows his head until our noses touch. He inhales deeply, his eyes closing as his hand falls to my lap. “I'd say just after you.” More heat floods my cheeks. “I-I didn't...” “Then we need to do something about that.” He looks again at the full glasses. “I think the drinks came while my tongue was busy getting to know your sweet mouth.” His hand splays over my thigh. My breathing hitches. “Malcolm?” “You said you want one night. One night doesn't end with a kiss. It begins with one.”
