Asher Davis. My first crush.
My first kiss.
The boy who ripped my heart out of my chest again and again. Over and over. I let him have it every single time.
Willingly.
We are that toxic high school couple you hear about, the one you witness in the hallway as they avoid each other. You laugh at them in class when they’re forced to work together, their gazes full of hatred. We are the couple you gossip about when they win homecoming prince and princess their sophomore year…
The back and forth is what kills me the most. I’m not his princess, I’m the girl he toys with when he’s bored. And he’s definitely not my prince, no matter how badly I want him to be.
Finally it’s our senior year and we’re months away from never having to see each other again when disaster strikes—and brings us closer together. All it takes is one touch, and I’m burning for Ash. Hotter than I ever have.
But will that burn turn into a devastating fire? Or can we actually make it work this time?

I am emotionally drained after finishing Close to Me. The rollercoaster Monica Murphy took me on was full of angst, tears, and the right amount of moments that made me smile.  I crave angsty books and when I saw Monica was releasing a new book I knew I had to read it. I love her writing and the emotions she evokes from me.

I could not get enough of Autumn and Asher. I love their opposites attract story and the push and pull each of them had.  I really liked Ash and my heart broke for him at the same time. He has a really rough home life and Monica did a great job of showing it and allowing you to connect with him. Autumn is the good girl that is trying to figure out if people like her for her, or because of who her dad is. Speaking of dad, you can read Autumn's parents story in a previous Monica Murphy book, One Week Girlfriend. You don't need to read that book to understand this one though. Each book stands on it's own.  I don't want to give too many details of events that happen in this book because I feel like you should experience it first hand. You'll really feel all the emotion that way. Just know you're in for drama but it's not over the top. It's the perfect balance and flow. I couldn't put this book down. I was invested 100% and couldn't wait to find out how everything would play out.

Overall, I enjoyed this book. I have always loved Monica's books and this one was just as amazing as all the previous ones I have read. I can't wait for more from her.
