BLOG TOUR: All My Life by Prescott Lane

"Hot single dad devoted to his daughter? Second chances? All the tension you could ask for? Look no further! Devoured this gem and you will too!"- Rachel Van Dyken, #1 New York Times bestselling author

All My Life, an all-new standalone contemporary romance by Prescott Lane is now LIVE!

The beginning of any love story starts with the meet.

I’ve known Garrett Hollis since before I can remember, and I’ve loved him just as long.  I loved him while he loved someone else. I loved him when he had a baby with her. I loved him when she left him.

The greatest of love stories is that between a dad and his daughter.  I should know. I’ve had a front row seat. First steps, first words, all the big moments.

Garrett was just a teenager when Mia was born.  I’ve watched him braid his daughter’s hair, hold her hand crossing the street, seen her asleep on his chest.  I’m the best friend, the one they can count on for everything from dance lessons to motherly advice, anything they need.  I’m their go-to girl.

The best part of any love story is the happily ever after.

But what if the happily ever after doesn’t include you?

All my life, that’s how long I’ve loved him.

Of course, he’s clueless.

A stand-alone, contemporary romance.

This book!

This story has all the feels. It'll make you laugh from the get-go. It will tear your heart to pieces, only to put it back together again. This is one book you do not want to miss.

The story starts out with a graduation speech. Garrett's daughter's speech to be exact. In this speech Mia jokingly asks if there are any single ladies for her dad. Garrett is a single father, always put his baby girl first. Now that Mia is going off to college she doesn't want him to be alone. Her speech set of a chain of crazy women swarming to the town to meet Garrett. Mia is ecstatic and convinces Garrett to go on some dates with these strange women, after some careful vetting of course. However, his life long friend, and the woman secretly in love with him, Devlyn isn't so thrilled.

Devlyn and Garrett grew up together. Just a couple of years younger than him, Devlyn idolized Garrett and loved him. When he got a girl pregnant, she is the only one in town that stood by him. When baby Mia came along and his girlfriend deserted them both, it was Devlyn who stepped in. She was there to help raise Mia; all the while secretly in love with Garrett.

Once the dating mayhem begins, Garrett miraculously starts to notice Devlyn as a woman instead of just his best friend. At first he thinks he's crazy, but then he just can't let the idea go of the two of them together. He decides to press on and make his intentions known. Of course, Devlyn just can't say no once Garrett FINALLY opens his eyes.

I loved the chemistry between these two characters. There was plenty of sass and flirty dialogue. When these two came together, there was a whole lot of steam. But, this isn't an easy love story. Of course there are several hurdles that the couple has to jump over. There are mistakes made that just broke my heart for Devlyn. She is such a giving and happy character and when her heart breaks, her sadness became my own.

All My Life by Prescott Lane gave me a book hangover. This lovely a story is a must read!

As far as dates go, this one has been good.  I like her. She’s attractive, funny, smart, seems to have her head on straight.  All the boxes are checked. This should be the point where I kiss her, ask her out again.  I should be devising ways to get in this woman’s panties, but instead I’m thinking more about yanking down the tutu of one very sexy Biscuit Girl.  I should be thinking about how to get this woman to fall for me, but it’s me that’s fallen. I should have one thing on my mind, and I do — Devlyn.

There’s just one big ass problem.  She’s my friend. I can’t go there.  There are so many reasons why I can’t go there.  The town would have a field day. We’d have no privacy.  Everyone would have an opinion. If we broke up, where would I get a decent cup of coffee?  How would Mia react to this? Then there’s Scott, who’s actually the least of my concerns. Devlyn seemed pretty sure it was over, and if it’s not, I plan on convincing her.

I don’t want to lose Devlyn.

Staying friends guarantees her in my life.  Dating her doesn’t.

Love doesn’t come with a guarantee.

Love is a risk.  I used to be a risk taker, but teenage fatherhood buried that part of me.  Stability became the name of the game. It had to. I look towards her diner, wondering if she’s back.

Blog Tour: The Sound of Serendipity by Cynthia A. Rodriguez

So many things can happen to a person on a Central Park bench.
For Emerson Kingsley, falling in love happened, despite her broken monster of a heart.
Emerson knows more about listening than she does about love, whether it’s listening to artists as a music producer or listening to stories as she people watches.

Months of watching Maddox Bailey from a park bench are to blame for her infatuation. In her mind, the moment they meet will be spectacular if she ever finds the nerve to speak to him.

But when the two share an awkward cab ride, she realizes that maybe fantasies are meant to stay that way.

The only problem is, now that they’ve met, he keeps popping up in her life. Each time he does, Emerson finds the real-life Maddox to be better than anything she could’ve dreamed—sexy, passionate, and sweeter than his chocolate brown eyes.

A woman in love with possibilities meets a man determined to make them happen.

The Sound of Serendipity is a great book for a lazy, rainy day. It’s the kind of romance that you want to be able to sit and devour in one sitting. The author pulled me in from the very beginning and I could not quit until I had finished the book.

Emerson guards her heart after a relationship that ended badly. She is set to take over her father’s company, but doesn’t really want it. What she wants is to be a music producer in the company, not to run it. She watches the world go by in Central Park; it is there that she finds peace and can relax. It is where she gets her first glimpse of Maddox and becomes infatuated. Little does she know he is going to turn her boring, predictable, safe life upside-down.

I absolutely loved Maddox. He is perfect for Emerson. He pushes when she needs it and it so patient with her. He is the typical not into relationships guy, but of course, she is enough to make him change his ways. And why not? She is a great character!

The author did a wonderful job at bringing the characters to life. Their emotions jumped off the page and I couldn’t help but to absorb them. This is my first book by Cynthia Rodriguez, but it definitely won’t be my last.

Cynthia A. Rodriguez hates writing her own bio. In her down-time, you can find her watching movies, ranging anywhere from classic movies to action flicks (she has a weakness for Marvel adaptations), and reading steamy novels. She is stationed in North Carolina, where she lives with her husband and their Miniature Pinscher, Winnie (as in Pooh).
