This is my first book by Alicia Rae but I was in dire need of a cowboy book and this one sounded amazing. I am so glad I grabbed in book. As a city girl, cowboy and ranching is so far away from my own reality that I love picturing Wranglers glued to a tight ass, big muscles from all the hard work and a cowboy hat sitting on top of a gorgeous face. Colton Kingston is EXACTLY what I pictured and then some!
Paige Summer is recovering from a horrible debilitating riding accident. She ran away from home and everyone who loves her especially Colton. She comes home for a visit and Colton will do everything in his power to make her stay and not run again.
Colton seriously is one of the most amazing book boyfriends ever. Besides being a hot cowboy (SWOON), he loves Paige more than anything in the world. The things he does for her are the sweetest gestures ever written. Seriously!
I absolutely loved watching Paige and Colton grow as a couple. Their connection is so real and popped off the pages. Alicia Rae’s descriptions made me a part of the story, living on a ranch with beautiful scenery. I devoured this book and was sad when it ended. Speaking of the ending, there was a cliffhanger! One where I wanted to yell at the characters and maybe even the author for doing it to the characters that I am so in love with.  No the cliffhanger isn’t make you cry in a corner for days but it definitely made me wish I had the next book immediately! I will tuning in for more Paige and Colton!
I recommend this book to anyone who loves a sweet romance and/ or hot cowboys!

Hollywood & Vine by Olivia Evans

23589051

In the land of Hollywood, bright lights cover lies, truths hide in shadows, and the lives of the rich and famous are illusions created by smoke and mirrors.

When costume designer Josie Bane first lays eyes on Anders Ellis, she hates him instantly. Conceited and arrogant, he's the epitome of a Hollywood playboy. So it’s much to Josie’s dismay when he becomes the star of her sexual fantasies.

Never expecting to see him again, she gives in to her desires for a night she’ll never forget. However, Josie soon learns that life is full of surprises. When their paths cross again, sparks fly. With three little words, Anders changes everything.

He’s after one thing.

She refuses to give it to him... again.

When Josie realizes she’s falling for a man that will never let her in but refuses to let her go, she must decide if the risk is worth the reward.

With a relationship shrouded in secrets and outside forces poised to tear them apart, did they ever stand a chance? Before the smoke clears and the curtain falls, Josie and Anders must distinguish between what’s fact and what’s fiction in a place where the truth is never black and white.

I have to admit, I was in TOTAL SHOCK when I found out that this was Olivia Evan's first book.  For a first time author, this is a great start and I am sure that she is on board for many other great reads!  I was drawn to Josie and Anders from the first page and even though this was a long book, it was one that I had a hard time putting down.  I had 2 very long days after working all day and staying up late reading.

From the start, you can tell that Anders is totally into himself.  He is the ultimate in man-whores and I don't think that there is a vagina that this man would not partake in.  In comes Josie.  She worked on the set with his for months and he never even knew that she was there.  At the cast party, she needs to know what all the hype is about.  Is Anders really all that great??

Fast forward a few months and once again Anders and Josie are on the same set.  This time, he does not even remember her or what they did together.  However, Anders is obsessed with Josie. He doesn't know why, but there is something about this woman that just makes his blood run.   There is pretty much anything to get her to go on a date with him.  The thing is, she feel like a fool that he can't even remember one of the best nights of her life- for a sexual standpoint that is.

I love Anders- yes he is an ass, but at the same time you can't help but want to love him  As you get to know him, you get why he is the way that he is and at the end you are rooting for him, and not Josie who you think that you are going to a the beginning of the book.

You will also fall in love with Maddie the best friend sidekick/assistant and Holden (Josie's brother).  They are fun and add a lot to the book.

Yes, the sex is hot in here, but nothing that will keep you looking in between your fingers the whole time.  I would have loved to give it 5 huge heart felt stars, but it was a bit long and I felt like at times it was a little too long and drawn out.  However, I did LOVE it and will defiantly keep this new author on my radar!!

“Hello?”

“I don’t know what kind of place Argent is running, but they need to get a handle on their employees.” Anders’ voice was stern and playful, making Josie laugh then sigh.

“I bet it’s the costume department, isn’t it? It is, right? I swear,” she exhaled. “You can’t find good help anywhere these days.”

“It really is quite sad. Is it asking too much for the beautiful Costume Supervisor to be in my trailer wearing only a tie when I walk through the door? For modeling purposes, of course.”

Josie laughed, her heart skipping. “Of course.”

“It feels weird being back.” He spoke quieter, his tone softer.

“I walked outside this morning and my makeup didn’t slide off my face from sweating. It was very disconcerting.”

“Get your ass to my trailer and I’ll have you sweating in no time.”

“Mr. Ellis, that sounds highly unprofessional,” she chastised, grabbing her clipboard and heading toward his trailer. “We both know how you feel about remaining professional on the job.”

“Well I see your smart mouth found its way back to LA.” Anders shook his head, a small smile tugging up the corner of his mouth.

Josie grinned and pushed open his door but continued to speak into her phone. “If I didn’t know better, I’d swear you sound relieved.”

Anders snapped his head to the side, a wicked gleam in his eyes as he stood from his chair, his phone still pressed to his ear. “Relieved is a bit of a stretch. Although, I must admit, I’ve thought of some creative ways to shut you up.”

Josie licked her lips and dropped her phone to her side. “Creative?”

Anders tossed his on the vanity and crossed the room. He wrapped his arms around her waist and kissed her before whispering in her ear.

“You have no idea.”

“I have a few.” Josie grinned and hugged him close, her eyes falling shut and the tightness in her chest loosening for the first time that day.

Anders leaned his forehead against Josie’s. “Is it weird that I missed you?”

“Totally weird. You’re such a freak.” Her tone was playful, but the strain in her voice and the softness in her eyes showed her true feelings.

I think I’ve had two glasses of champagne and three whiskey sours. I’m working on my fourth. I’ll need a lot more before this night is over considering the bane of my existence is here and she won’t stop looking at me.
When I first met her, I used to stare at her all the time. I didn’t understand what was wrong with me. I felt like a fucking stalker and I knew I was on the verge of being just that. I had wanted her and I fought that so hard. I used to move through the hallways at school like a shadow and watch as she left her class. She was so introverted at that point she didn’t even notice. Hell, I think she’s still introverted. I don’t think she could ever change that. She doesn’t like attention so she pretends it’s not there. She got so good at pretending, she really didn’t notice anything.
I feel like the stalked now. Her eyes follow me everywhere I go. Talking to Pierce about Donovan. Dancing with Rachel. Sitting in the corner playing a game with Asher. Every time I go to the bar her eyes are on me. No one says anything about it, but they all know. Rachel has that look in her eyes, the one that means she’s about to go off on someone. She’s pissed off on my behalf and I don’t have the heart to tell her I can handle the bitch.
I’m the only person who could ever handle her.
After three hours of her staring at me, I decide I can’t handle it anymore. I throw back the rest of my whiskey and I stalk towards her. She looks surprised when I grab her arm and yank her towards the back of the room. Then I lead her out into the empty hall.
She leans against one side and I lean against the opposite side. Then we just stare at each other. It’s been a little over a year and I can’t think of what to say to her. It’s like we know each other but we don’t. It makes me think of when we first met. I didn’t know what to say to her then either.
“Why did you bring me out here?” she asks, crossing her arms over her chest. Not because she’s mad, no, she’s turned on. She doesn’t like for people to notice her pebbled nipples. In a few more seconds she’ll tighten her thighs and she’ll be thinking about getting a new pair of panties.
I shrug my shoulders. That’s when I see the anger twinkle in her eyes. Now she’s thinking of hitting me while I watch her tighten her thighs. We are creatures of habit. This is habit for us if nothing else. Fighting, getting angry and then finding somewhere to fuck because that’s what we do. Even when we were unbelievably happy that’s what we did.
I hate how much I miss her.
“You know, if you want to talk, then you have to speak. I know you. There’s always something you want to say.” She uncrosses her arms and I feel it straight to my groin because her nipples are hard. They strain against her dress and I want to pull the fabric down and suck one of the pink pretties into my mouth.
I shrug again. She wouldn’t talk to me a year ago, wouldn’t explain why she left. There’s no reason why I should talk to her now. I want to torture her for some reason. The thing about that though is I’m torturing myself just by being in her presence.
The tension pings against the walls around us. It’s in the air and you can actually feel it, it’s pulling us together. It has always bound us together. What we felt for each other was more than love. We are and will always be soul mates. She and I are one and it kills me inside. When I just needed her to love me, talk to me, she couldn’t do it. I don’t trust her and I hate her while I’m more in love with her than I’ve ever been before.
It’s probably all the alcohol or maybe it’s just her, but I cross the hallway and I get in her space. I look down to watch her clench her fists against the wall. We don’t touch but our eyes lock and this feels all too familiar.

I live in southern Arkansas with my husband and young daughter. There is also an insane Boston Terrier running around. I've always been a lone wolf and find my friends in books. I started writing at a young age and I haven't stopped since. Most days you can find me either glued to my laptop or my kindle. My first novel, This Beautiful Thing was an Amazon best seller for 11 weeks and a year later I'm still tickled to see people enjoy it. I may not be a huge seller but I have the best fans ever and I thank God everyday for every single one of them.

Cover Reveal: Before He Was A Secret by Becky Wicks

Before He Was A Secret by Becky Wicks
(Starstruck #3)
Publication date: Winter 2015
Genres: New Adult, Romance

Another standalone Starstruck romance from the HarperCollins author who brought you Amazon #1 bestseller Before He Was Famous and Before He Was Gone

“What if we can’t choose
Every battle we win and lose
What if we decided years before, to live this life, to fight these wars
And all the dreams we ever thought were ours
Were written in the stars”

Waiting tables isn’t exactly what singer/songwriter Stephanie has in mind for her move to Nashville, but memories of the past and a case of writer’s block mean inspiration isn’t coming easy. When brooding pianist Conor Judge opens his mouth in a smoky bar he proves music can heal, and even help you re-write your story, but a history of his own means the one thing he starts to want most is always just out of reach. Stephanie.

Enter Travis Flynn – an upcoming star who won’t take no for an answer, and a record label intent on helping Stephanie shine, without Conor. As fame comes knocking as hard as the ghosts of their pasts, it soon becomes clear that no matter how hard you might fall in love, having the perfect songs doesn’t always mean perfect harmony.
