Jock Road by Sara Ney

EAT. SLEEP. FOOTBALL.

Those are Jackson Jennings, Jr’s three mantras. His entire life, he’s been a trained athlete with only one end-game: the Pro’s. No girls. No parties. No alcohol.

EAT. SLEEP. FOOTBALL.
Repeat.
Every Friday night, Triple J cruises the strip on campus, bored, lonely and conditioned not to party. But the night he meets Charlotte Edmonds on the side of the road, he wonders if his three mantras will ever be enough.

BIG. DUMB. JOCK.
Charlie has no time for Jackson’s antics. Not when he’s stealing her food or teases her to no end, making her tingle in all the right places. But if she’s ever going to have a boyfriend, she’d choose one who isn’t a Neanderthal. One with manners and actual time to spend with her. Not a hulking man-child who cruises the strip at night, in his Big. Dumb. Truck.

Jock Road is the newest release in the Jock Hard series by Sara Ney. I enjoy this series so I was excited to get the next installment. Each book is about a different house on "Jock Row" and a different sport. Jock Road is the story of star wide receiver Jackson Jennings Jr or Triple J and Charlotte "Charlie" Edmonds.

Jackson lives everything football. His entire life revolves around it, if you would call it much of a life. He didn't have the best upbringing so his family life isn't the best. He refuses to date and he doesn't have a social life. Eat, sleep, football repeat. That is until he has run in with Charlie. She's a spitfire and he is intrigued.  I liked Jackson. He's sweet and innocent and at times awkward. The awkwardness just added to his charm though and made me really like him. Sara Ney throws in a great twist that I didn't see coming. I was in complete shock when I found out something huge about Jackson. I actually enjoyed that twist as it was something different that you don't see often.

Charlie has zero time for dumb jocks. Especially ones that act like they don't have to follow the rules just because they're a jock. Charlie is feisty and headstrong and I adored her. She's not your typical girly girl and I loved that. It allowed me to connect with her.

I really enjoyed the banter and the back and forth between Jackson and Charlotte. I laughed a lot throughout this book. Jock Road is a sweet, funny, quick read. I read it in one sitting. This one isn't my favorite of the series but overall I enjoyed it.
