Release Day Blitz for THE NINTH INNING by J. Sterling

"This is sports romance at its best! I was hooked from the first page!" - Claire Contreras, New York Times bestselling author

The Ninth Inning, an all-new standalone sports romance from New York Times bestselling author J. Sterling, is available now!

Cole Anders is in his last season at Fullton State. If he doesn’t get drafted this year, he’ll be forced to hang up his cleats for good. It's not something he’s ready to do.

To prove he’s serious about his final season, he’s given up girls. No more casual hookups, dates or one-night stands. But there's one girl who has always refused to give up on him. One girl who has been there since the start of Freshman year. One girl he stupidly assumed would always be waiting for him when he got off the field, no matter how long it took.

Christina's had enough of Cole pushing her aside for baseball. She’s grown tired of waiting for him to see what she’s known since they were freshmen… that they are good together. She’s finally moved on- for good this time.

Cole has other ideas, but she refuses to cave. It’s not her problem if he wants her now. Too little too late.

There comes a point in your life when you have to stop the incessant merry-go-round and just get off the ride, right? Try telling that to Cole.

To say I was excited for this book would be the understatement of the year. The Ninth Inning was my most anticipated book of 2020. I couldn't wait to dive back into the baseball world that Jenn has created and get a glimpse of Jack Carter. The Ninth Inning is the first book in The Boys of Baseball series. Yes, it is a spin off of The Perfect Game series. Do you have to read that series to understand this one, no. Should you, YES. Everyone should enjoy three books of Jack F'n Carter.

The Boys of Baseball series will consist of stand alone books that intertwine. First man up to bat is Cole Anders. He's sexy, a senior, and knows what he wants. Well, kinda. Cole has sworn off women. He knows that if he wants to be drafted he has to stay focused on the game and get his batting average up. There's just one problem. One beautiful problem. Christina.

Christina is beautiful and fun. She's also always had to take a back seat to baseball and she's tired of it. She wants actual commitment not just random hookups that are hidden from everyone.

Baseball books are my favorite troupe in the romance genre. Especially with everything going on and baseball not happening right now. The Ninth Inning gave me that. It was sweet and funny with some angst thrown in. While at times, predictable, I did enjoy it. I can't wait for Chance's book!

The Ninth Inning is a spin-off of Jenn’s The Perfect Game Series. I am a huge fan of baseball and Jack Carter so I was extremely excited for this book. You don’t have to read The Perfect Game Series before reading The Ninth Inning but I highly recommend you do.

The Ninth Inning brings us Cole Anders. Cole is in his senior year at Fulton State and knows he has to step up his hitting or he won’t be drafted into the major leagues. The only thing is there’s this girl, Christina Travers who he can’t get enough of. He knows he has to focus on baseball this year so he walked away from her in order to 100% concentrate on ball. He’s coming to find out that might have been a mistake. Can Cole concentrate on baseball and win back the girl?

The start of The Ninth Inning was a little slow for me. After a bit it did pick up and I read through it pretty smoothly. I will say the story line was predictable and I was disappointed I figured it out so fast. Even with that, I did enjoy the book. I loved the secondary characters and hope we see them regularly in the upcoming books. I was also super excited we got to see a little bit of Jack again and I’m hoping we get a lot more of him in Chance’s book which is up next!

My goal is to write books that you can get lost in and stories that will leave you with a smile and a full heart. If you can forget about the real world while you're reading and fall in love with my characters, then I've done my job. A lot of what I write has real life aspects in it, but that's what makes the stories so relatable- the fact that they could happen to anyone... and have! I live in California with my son, Blake. If you can't find me sitting behind a computer screen, then there's a good chance I'm sitting in the bleachers of a baseball stadium watching him play. I love traveling to new places, meeting my readers and spending time with the love of my life, my very own second chance romance, who inspires me daily. I know you have a million books to choose from and I am humbled, grateful and thankful each time you choose to read one of mine, or tell someone else to read them. Thank you.
