Blog Tour: Finding Serenity by Eden Butler

Mollie Malone's mom skipped out on her. Her biker dad, always loose and easy with the law, still was able to make her feel loved, and to keep her safe. But thirteen years ago, when his luck finally ran out and he landed in prison, Mollie found herself a new family - a group of friends in the sleepy little college town of Cavanagh, Tennessee, where now they all attend the local university. These girls know about the rotten roots of her family tree but accept her anyway, and the bond between them is so strong and supportive that Mollie is finally able to see past graduation to a future that is bright and secure.

But sometimes the past doesn't stay buried.

Suddenly, inexplicably, there's a shadow behind every step Mollie takes. Someone is lurking in that shadow, threatening not only Mollie, but also the new family she has claimed for herself.

And it isn’t just the past that has Mollie’s life in upheaval. Hunky former Marine Vaughn Winchester - who Mollie really would like to get to know much better - thinks Mollie is just a kid; he's made it clear she wouldn't ever be able to understand the demons haunting him. But if that's what he believes, then why does he keep sticking his nose in her business? And if he thinks she’s such a kid, why does he keep trying to kiss her?

Vaughn’s mind games are frustrating, especially since Mollie knows enough about secrets to be convinced that there's something he isn’t telling her, something he's so far been able to keep hidden. But when that secret is revealed, Mollie is forced into a situation that tests her loyalty and threatens even her closest friendships - just when the shadow of her past returns, and she's going to need them the most.

'Finding Serenity' is book two in the Seeking Serenity series.

I must say...thank you Eden Butler for Declan Fraser. No this isn't his story, but the bits that I got of him in this story is enough. Please give me a moment to sigh...to swoon. I have a spot is my heart for this rough, sensitive Irishman. *SIGH*

Okay, moving on. Eden Butler does it again. This story is full of fun and emotion. I was over the top excited to read this book and it does not disappoint. We are back in Cavanaugh, but this time the story centers around Mollie and Vaughn. If you read Chasing Serenity, then you are familiar with how these two met during the Dash. If you haven't read it, SHAME ON YOU! Go one click it NOW.

In this book, we find out more about Mollie's past. About how she was raised by her single father who just happened to be president of a motorcycle club until he was put in prison. Then, she had to go live with her awful mother and sister. I'll be honest here, I was rooting for them to get slapped or something. I despise those two women. She finds family in the form of the three girls, Sayo, Autumn, and Layla, and I adore their love and loyalty to each other. They show how you don't have to be “blood” to be sisters.

Her father’s past starts to catch up with her, and she need a protector, which happens to be in the form of a hot, complicated, broken Marine. Better known as Vaughn. Gah...I can't count the number of times I wanted to hit him. Then, I would turn right around and want Mollie to kiss him. I have a soft spot for the broken guys that are rough around the edges, and that is most definitely Vaughn. He is one of my new bbf, but no fecking way is he knocking Declan down. It's hard to beat that accent, even if it is only in my head. Lol

As expected, the author made my heart break. She made me cry tears of sadness, but also tears of bittersweet joy. She made my heart feel full of love and totally empty. She had my emotions everywhere in this beautiful, rough around the edges story. This is not a book you want to skip over.  It's one you read, become attached to, and one that you are a little sad when you read the last page because you just aren't ready to say goodbye. There is something magical about a book when you connect to the characters. Everything that happens to them feel like it happens to you; this series is full of this magic and Eden Butler is the talented magician weaving it all together. I absolutely cannot wait to see where she brings us next.

Vaughn stops her, slides his hip over the door. “You know, you sure do have a temper.”

            “You got no idea.”

“Maybe…” he starts, standing closer to her, “maybe you wanna let me find out.”

            “What?”

He shrugs. “Maybe I’m curious.” Again his gaze moves toward Marco and the loud boom of the stereo that he cranks up. Vaughn couldn’t be jealous, not of Marco anyway, so Mollie figures it’s the burglary. This guy can’t help himself, seems like he has to be the hero. Always.

“I was, too.” She steps closer to him, but he doesn’t even lean away from her when she invades his personal space. “And then I went to see you, and you acted like I was a first grader with a crush on my teacher.”

            “No I didn’t.”

“You called me a little girl.” He winces, then laughs. Mollie pushes him back so that she can open the car door. Instantly the quiet parking lot is filled with Marco’s bass. “Besides, I don’t need any heroes. I got this.”

“Do you, now? You sure?” Vaughn jerks his chin toward Marco, clearly unimpressed. “Seems like your backup is a bit underqualified. I’m sure a girl raised by a damn squid would have better taste in protectors.”

The car window rattles when Mollie slams the door shut. “Get this straight. I can take care of myself. And I don’t need some fucking jarhead disrespecting my father.” She doesn’t care that there is no humor on Vaughn’s face now. She doesn’t care how attracted she is to him or how hopeful she was that there was something between them. When she comes within inches of him, Vaughn straightens, his defenses set firm. “No one, and I mean no one, talks shit about my dad.”

Mollie doesn’t wait for his reaction. She doesn’t care that she’s likely blown any shot she ever had with Vaughn. She’s pretty sure now there was never any real shot at all. To her, anyone can say what they want about her. She doesn’t care, but mess with her friends or her family, and she skates a bit on the psycho side.

Eden Butler is an editor and writer of New Adult Romance and SciFi and Fantasy novels and the nine-times great-granddaughter of an honest-to-God English pirate. This could explain her affinity for rule breaking and rum. Her debut novel, a New Adult, Contemporary (no cliffie) Romance, “Chasing Serenity” launched in October 2013 and quickly became an Amazon bestseller.

When she’s not writing or wondering about her possibly Jack Sparrowesque ancestor, Eden edits, reads and spends way too much time watching rugby, Doctor Who and New Orleans Saints football.

She is currently living under teenage rule alongside her husband in southeast Louisiana.

Confessions After Dark Blog Tour

Sparks Fly … Lines Blur… Hearts Break
Alexander Avery is rich, powerful and the sexiest man Angeline Hemming has ever laid eyes on: a man like every woman dreams about. Angel is not immune to his sensual and ruthless pursuit, and Alex is intoxicated by the beautiful doctor; overwhelmed with desire like he’s never known.

As one of Angel’s profiling cases gets more and more dangerous, Alex finds himself filled with unfamiliar panic and emotional turmoil; his need to protect her goes against Angel’s adamant insistence that she doesn’t need his help. He isn’t a man to sit on the sidelines when the woman he’s obsessed with is threatened, so he takes control to protect her without telling her of his plans.

Angel’s fortitude is shaken when her stalker invades not only her personal life but also those close to her… even when that someone is as powerful and seemingly untouchable as Alexander Avery. Professional ethics insist she keep the details or her work secret, even as their newfound closeness has her yearning to confide in him. But, as Angel’s quest to protect her heart from Alex’s
undeniable pull equals her need to keep him out of a dangerous situation, circumstances dictate a huge decision; which could have detrimental, and irreversible consequences for them both.

When danger threatens and jealousy reaches the boiling point, lies will be told and secrets kept… Even with the best intentions and the most undeniable connection … the deepest of loves will be tested.

Hot Sex! If you like it, you will get it with these 2!

If you have not read the first book in the series, you REALLY need to! Not only is it hot, but you will be totally lost without knowing what is going on.

This book takes place where the last one left off for Alex and Angel. Angel is still being stalked by the mafia and Alex is still not letting her know that he knows what is going on. So basicly the same cat and mouse game as before. That is not to say that there is a lacking of drama, intensity, emotional rollercoaster moments, and Hot Sex. Did I happen to mention the HOT SEX?
I liked that I was able to get to know Alex and Angel's personality a little bit more in this book then the last. Angel is so independent though that at times I really wanted to go postal on her, and if she was a real person I would have. She seemed to be more on the whiny bitchy side in this book, but that is what makes her tough and makes her the character that she is.
Alex is the professional tough guy that won't take no for an answer. He knows what he wants and will do what it takes to get it. Whether it being buying out all the mafia run dry cleaners in Chicago or going to Angel at work and forcing her to talk to him.
I enjoyed meeting Alex's family in this and hope that there is more with them. His sister is a high society hoot with a wildness to her that you can't help but love. Cole is funny as hell egging on Alex any way that he can.
I am really hoping that book 3 is coming soon as I am ready to see how this thing is going to end.

“Needing someone doesn’t make you weak, doll. It makes you human.” Alexander Avery

Blog Tour Review- Teaching Willow Session Three by Paige James

Title: TEACHING WILLOW: Session Three by Paige James
Age group: Adult
Genre: Erotic Romance
Cover designer: Paige James

Release Date: April 22, 2014
Tour organized by: WordSmith Publicity

It started with waking up in a strange place.
It ended with everything that I thought I knew coming into question.
Now, I’m watching love turn into hate, bend turn into break and lies turn into truth that hurts worse than the deception ever did.
Such is my life, The Wicked World of Willow Masters.

- Please do not read this review when you haven't read Sessions One and Two first; this will likely give you spoilers that will piss you off - you have been warned. -

Willow wakes up in a hospital after surviving a car wreck in Session Two's cliffhanger ending. Not only is her arm now in a sling, but she gets an unwelcome visit from her mother and remembers that her twin sister, Sage, is on her way back to town which will essentially reveal the lies that she has been telling involving a very unsuspecting Ebon.

But then...then IT happens. The IT that we've been waiting for since this serial started - Ebon finds out that Willow has been taking Sage's place. Her place in his mind, heart, and bed.

While Ebon is shocked and essentially hurt by his discovery, a part of him feels nothing but relief because Willow is who he has wanted all along but could never have since she was his student...but now...it's time for him to have the sister he's wanted and denied himself.

Willow. Tonight, I'm going to devour Willow. And she's going to let me. This I know. All roads have led here. To her. As much as I have tried to fight it, this was inevitable. She was inevitable.
When the dust clears Willow and Ebon both must face the consequences of both of their actions; after the fallout the duo must face their pasts head on and see if either of them come out of their situations stronger or more destroyed.
