A heart’s not made of stone

Will Andrea discover on her own the passion Bentley claims she lacks, or will he be the one to draw it out of her?
Words… choose them wisely.
***STAND ALONE NOVEL*** INTENDED FOR MATURE READERS***
The Critic is the first book of Joanna Schwehm I’ve read and it most certainly won’t be the last! I really enjoyed this story. The idea of Broadway being the back drop of this story is a new idea for me. So when I read the blurb, I knew I needed to read this book.
Bentley Chambers is a harsh but honest critic that reviews Broadway and Off Broadway shows. When he first sees Andrea Jordan, he is immediately attracted to her. He felt a draw to her that he never had experienced before. The problem is her acting wasn’t great. He knows she could be better. Over the years he keeps reviewing her shows but never gave her a good review.
Andrea Jordan was tired of Bentley ruining her career so she confronts him and the fireworks flew. Andrea Jordan had dreamt of being a Broadway star since she was little but the critic kept slamming her.
Once these two characters spent time together, the connection was undeniable. As the reader you could feel their passion for theatre and each other. The author did a great job drawing me into their life and feeling all their emotions. And because of that sometimes, I wanted to reach in my kindle and smack Andrea. She sometimes couldn’t get out of her own way. Bentley was so patient with her and made me seriously swoon.
The supporting characters were also awesome. Bentley’s brother Brett and Andrea’s bff Gina helped make this book even better. I’m super excited that Brett is getting his own book. There was a lot of mystery behind his character and I look forward to reading all about him.
Definitely a must read!!!
