The Other Game by J. Sterling

Title: The Other Game: A Dean Carter Novel
Author: J. Sterling
Series: The Game Series, Book Four

You thought you knew everything there was to know about Jack and Cassie’s story…but you were wrong. From New York Times best-selling author J. Sterling, we dive headfirst back into the epic love story that started it all, The Perfect Game, but this time from Dean Carter’s point of view.
Freshman Dean Carter is the younger brother of campus hotshot Jack. Abandoned by their parents when they were young, Dean and Jack have a bond that most brothers only wish for. As Jack follows his dream of becoming a professional baseball player, he falls in love along the way with aspiring photographer Cassie Andrews. We see Jack get the girl—then lose the girl—and we follow his painful journey through it all via the eyes of his adoring younger brother, Dean.

With never-before-seen scenes and fresh new dialogue, Dean’s point of view is an emotional journey through relationships and the trials that test them. This isn’t the same old love story…but you will still fall. Let the gang steal your heart all over again in The Other Game.

Oh hello, Dean Carter. The Game Series is one of my favorite series out there. Jack and Cassie's story is beyond epic. It was one of the first novels I ever read where angst and drama were driving factors, and despite all the emotional distress it caused me, I couldn't let it go. Finally J. Sterling has given readers insight into the life of "The Other Carter", Jack's brother, Dean.  Readers be prepared to buckle up and go for another ride on J. Sterling's literary roller coaster in The Other Game.

Dean's story is a retelling of The Perfect Game through his eyes. The Other Game is brilliant. Fans of the series are going to love this story for two simple reasons -- first, we finally get to delve into the mind of Dean Carter. Yum, yum. Second, The Other Game is like frosting on the perfect cupcake because it rounds out Jack and Cassie's story and is the perfect complement for all those unanswered questions that may linger.

Despite it being a retelling, I found The Other Game to be refreshing and just as emotionally tormenting as the first time I read The Perfect Game. Reliving a story through a different point of view makes the journey that much more exhilarating and new. The Other Game just makes sense and fits perfectly with what we've learned about Dean Carter through Jack and Cassie's story. It wouldn't make sense to write his story any other way since Dean's world is so thickly intertwined with Jack's.

To Author J. Sterling, thank you for giving us Dean Carter's story. It's reawakened my love for these characters and this series and once again driven my blood pressure up as I fret over people who don't actually exist. Everyone needs to get their hands on The Other Game today!

I got fired from my last job.

It's true.

I know you're sitting there thinking, "Jenn, how could anyone in their right mind fire someone like you?" And I'd love to give you a good reason, but the truth is that sometimes being all sorts of awesome isn't fun for other people. They don't always tend to like it. lol  :)

So I picked my pride off the floor, bought a laptop and started writing my first book. And you know what I realized? Writing stories that meant something to me was a million times better than working my ass off for someone who didn't really care about anything other than the bottom line.

My soul has never felt more satisfied.
My heart has never been more full.

I've never worked so hard in my life, but I love every second of it. I truly do.
It is SO worth it.
All of it.
Every moment.
The journey it took to get to this point- I wouldn't change a thing.

So thank you for reading, loving and recommending the stories I write to other people. Your word of mouth is my very best friend.... that and your reviews.  :)
I sincerely appreciate each and every one of you.
