Oh my word Ms. D'Agostino what have you done to me? It’s been over 24 hours since I’ve finished Irreparably Broken and I’m still tapping my kindle’s screen trying to turn to the next page. Soon after I finished I learned that H. D’Agositino has been labeled the Queen of the Cliffy, and let me tell you she lives up to that name.
Irreparably Broken is Maddie and Cole’s story. Both are broken souls who are sure they will never properly heal. Maddie was in a 3 year abusive relationship. A relationship that tour her down physically and emotionally. The effects of that relationship still linger 5 years later. She is still scared to be go out in public, scared to trust anyone especially another man. Cole grew up in a household where it was ok to hit. His father not only hit him but his sister and his mother as well. Until the day Cole fought back. It’s a secret that he keeps locked deep down and only one person knows what really happened to him growing up, his friend Wes.

They have several hurdles to jump over with Maddie’s lack of trust, but slowly she learns to trust him. They are healing each other, coming to terms with their pasts and knowing that in the end it will be ok. Until it isn’t…….
Yeah that’s how I felt when I got to the end….really…..she really did that to us?!?! Yes this story isn’t original, it’s been done a thousand times, but it was still very good. I couldn’t put it down and needed to know what was going to happen next. I love when a book draws me in and makes me feel and this one didn’t disappoint. Now I NEED that next book!
I wasn’t sure what I was feeling when I left the gym that day. Exhaustion? Happiness? Desire? Lust? I didn’t think it could be love, but I knew it was something. Cole had burrowed his way into my heart, and each day he got a little deeper. I smiled to myself as I climbed into my car. Friday’s date couldn’t get here fast enough. The more time I spent with Cole, the more I wanted to be with him. He was shining a light in my life that I didn’t even know existed anymore, and because of it I was off my usual game.
I’d always been aware in the past of anyone around me, and if I’d been paying attention instead daydreaming when I left the gym that night I would have notice the black Mercedes parked across the street and the feeling of dread that tried to settle in the pit of my stomach. I’d pushed it aside instead of listening to it, and I’ve been kicking myself ever since.
