Let me start off this review with how much I adore Kendall
Grey. I have had the privilege to meet her twice in the past year and she is
such a great person. When I first heard about Hot Blooded, I knew I had to read
it.
This book is not a flowers and rainbows romance. This book
is dark, gritty and dirty. Hot Blooded doesn’t have a HEA. What it does have is amazing strong
characters. It has a story within a story. It has a storyline that you have not
read before.
The book takes place in Hawaii. Keahilani is our lead female
character. She is bold and strong and will do anything for her ohana- family.
Her mom dies and she is now in charge. Left without their mother and no money,
the family is lead to a marijuana garden. A business idea forms. They produce
the best pot on the market. We follow Keahilani and her journey to distribute
the drugs.
Enter Blake! He works for someone who doesn’t want the ohana
in their territory taking business away from him. Blake and Keahilani have an
instant attraction! The sex is explosive! But they are on opposite sides.
Keahilani’s brothers, Kai, Mano and Bane are a huge part of
the book. I hope as the series continues that we learn more about them.
This book had twists and turns and I loved it. Hot Blooded
is like nothing I have red before and I can’t wait for the next book in the
series. There is not a cliffhanger in my opinion just a desire for more.
I highly recommend
this book to people who like dark books and don’t mind for a non HEA ending.
