Carey Heywood really took us on a journey with Lindsay and
Luke. This storyline is not one I have ever read before. It was refreshing to
read a new twist on the lead woman’s character.
Lindsay needs to lose weight for her high school reunion and
one of her online friends pairs her up with her trainer brother, Luke. We saw
Luke in The Other Side of Someday as Clay’s good friend. Through Lindsay’s
training, she lets Luke into her bubble and an amazing friendship and trust is
built.
Lindsay is a sassy girl. Even though she is shy in person,
she really has a kick ass personality. It was really easy to fall in love with
her wit. I absolutely loved watching her grow as a person throughout the book.
I also love the new trend I am seeing that all our book heroines aren’t size
2s. I love that she struggled like the rest of us!
Luke. Oh boy was he patient, kind and thoughtful. He is the
definition of book boyfriend. His feeling for Lindsay were so sweet and loving.
He really could be the perfect man!
I really enjoyed this book by Carey Heywood. She really told
a beautiful and heartwarming story. If I wish anything was different with this
book was that the “bad guys” could have gotten theirs! When you read it you
will know exactly what I mean.
This book can be read as a standalone!
