A Song for Us is the latest installment in Teresa Mummert’s White Trash Trilogy. This story steps away from the characters featured in the first two novels (Cass and Tucker) and features Damaged drummer, Eric. As much as I absolutely loved White Trash Beautiful and White Trash Damaged, I was excited to explore the story of a new character from the series. Pieces of Eric’s story have been paved throughout the first two novels, and I was ready to get the full scope of his past and present.
Eric is loyal, protective, hot-tempered, passionate, vulnerable, damaged but strong. There’s no clear word that is able to define the complexity of his past and character. I loved getting inside his mind and seeing his strengths and weaknesses. I wanted so badly for him to find a happily ever after like Cass and Tucker. He’s a catch and I loved that Teresa presented Eric with several options to pursue. He finds himself in more than just a love triangle. This is a love rectangle. The passion. The drama. Someone is guaranteed heartbreak and I was left guessing who would be left hurting until the end.
Sarah, the lead singer of Filth, has made several cameos in the series and has a weighted past with Eric. Despite her feelings and undeniable attraction to him, she has chosen a (sometimes unstable) relationship with her bandmate, Derek. I also loved getting to know her better, but at times I wanted to shake her until she realized her potential and broke free from the past that haunts her. She pushed my comfort zone and my heart ached for her throughout the story.
Even though the A Song For Us focuses on Eric and Sarah, Teresa doesn’t dismiss the other characters from the White Trash Trilogy. She incorporates scenes with the couple readers originally fell in love with, Cass and Tucker, giving updates on their happily ever after. We also get glimpses into the lives of the other bandmates, and I can’t help but beg for the twins to get their own books.
This story is the perfect addition to Teresa Mummert’s rocker series. Readers will get their share of drama and will be beyond satisfied with the romance and passion in A Song For Us. I’m torn between closure and wanting more. If the series were to end with this book, I would be content and able to move on. At the same time, I can’t help but want stories for every other member of Damaged. Regardless of where these characters end up, I have truly enjoyed The White Trash Trilogy and highly recommend readers take a chance on Cass and Tucker and then continue the journey with Eric.

the age of twenty three I decided to expand my horizons and become a blackjack
dealer in Ireland. I loved the family atmosphere at Barney's Underground Liquor
Lounge (B.U.L.L.). People couldn't resist the allure of Liquor up front and
poker in the rear. Eventually I became tired of the rear and headed off to the
United States to try my hand at tall tales. That is what brings us here today.
