Emma has no interest in wasting her summer with a superficial guy like Landon. But very soon she realizes she is wrong about him. The question is, can she trust him? Or will he let her down like every other guy in her life? But most importantly, can Emma trust herself enough to live the life she's always dreamed of?

Life has a way of sneaking in the most important lessons when you aren't looking. And once the heart gets involved, that's when the real learning begins.

This book is beautiful and heartbreaking; so full of emotion. I absolutely fell in love with Landon and adore Emma. The two meet during the summer and slowly become friends. Emma doesn't trust guys, she is good at pushing everyone away. Landon isn't used to hearing no. Actually, he is NEVER told no by a girl. However, he sees something in her that he wants to know, so he pursues her.

The two begin to bond and fall in love. However, the summer is ending and they have to get back to reality. Emma is 21, helping to support her sister Evie, who has down syndrome, and needs to find a job. Landon is going away to college to play football.

They are determined to make thing work until London's lie catches up with them. And O.M.G! I did NOT see that coming. Cue the crushed heart. I could feel Emma’s pain. I could feel Landon's remorse, pain and guilt. Their combined longing was so heart wrenching. They had such a beautiful relationship; I just hurt.

Landon is determined, though. He doesn't believe it's the end for them even though any chance they have seems impossible. He is a changed man and proves to Emma time and again just how much he has grown. I loved watching him evolve as a character. This boy is definitely swoon worthy, book boyfriend material.

Landon isn't the only one who changed in to book. Emma also shows a lot of growth and strength, especially at her lowest moments. I think this is a must read for YA or NA lovers. I’m already itching to read it again.
