Stalking and
restraining orders are a thing of Alayna Wither’s past. With her MBA newly in
hand, she has her future figured out—move up at the nightclub she works at and
stay away from any guy who might trigger her obsessive love disorder. A perfect
plan.
But what
Alayna didn’t figure on is Hudson Pierce, the new owner of the nightclub. He’s
smart, rich, and gorgeous—the kind of guy Alayna knows to stay away from if she
wants to keep her past tendencies in check. Except, Hudson’s fixed his sights
on her. He wants her in his bed and makes no secret of it. Avoiding him isn’t
an option after he offers a business
proposition
she can’t turn down and she’s drawn further into his universe, unable to resist
his gravitational pull.
When she
learns Hudson has a dark history of his own, she realizes too late that she’s fallen
for the worst man she could possibly get involved with. Or maybe their less
than ideal pasts give them an opportunity to heal each other and finally find
the love their lives have been missing.
I moved to the door and placed my hand on the knob. But
Hudson’s palm pressed on the top of the door, holding it closed and trapping me
between him and the wall.
He lowered his head to my ear. “Wait, Alayna.” His breath
tickled and burned simultaneously. I closed my eyes, taking it in, bearing it.
“I apologize for overwhelming you. That wasn’t my intent. But I want you to
know that whether or not you decide to help with my situation, I will continue
to seduce you. I’m a man who gets what he wants. And I want you.”
Um, holy wow.
Turned on did not begin to describe how his statement made
me feel.
Then his mouth was on me, nibbling at my earlobe. I drew in
a sharp breath. Involuntarily, I let my head roll to the side, granting him
better access.
And, man, did he take what I gave, nipping a trail
down my neck, sending ripples of desire through my belly. I moved my hand off
the doorknob and grabbed his arm to steady myself. He curled his other arm
around me, his hand settling on my breast. I gasped at the contact, leaning in
to his touch.
He kneaded my breast as he nuzzled his face in my hair. “I
should have told you earlier,” he said softly. “You look absolutely beautiful
tonight. I can’t keep my eyes off you. Serious and sexy wrapped into one
package.” He pressed against me and I could feel his erection at my lower back.
“Kiss me, Alayna.”
It was so hot how he used my name freely. As if it was his
to use. And in many ways it was. Almost no one called me anything but Laynie.
He’d claimed my name when he claimed me.
All that was left was for me to accept it.
Fixed On
You has been a book on my TBR for far too long and after have read it I am just
plain old mad at myself for not bumping this up. I love a book with brokenish
people and strong connections. This book has both.
Alayna Wither is a messed up
woman with serious issues but man I just really felt for her. I think all of us
have had our own stalker tendencies but Alayna just took them a tad further
than legally allowed.
“My obsessive relationship disorder made it really easy for me to
imagine that things happened between me and others that actually hadn’t. It had
been several years since I had fallen into those old habits. Now was I doing it
again?”
She is a wicked smart woman who just
graduated with her MBA. She works at a night club and wants to become
management. She was staying on the recovered path.
In walks hot as hell Hudson Pierce. He
is a business mogul who buys the night club. It is hard to say but I am pretty
sure he did so after seeing Alayna at a business school function and was
immediately attracted to her. However, Hudson doesn’t have the best track
record either. He likes to suck them in
and then discard of them.
“Because I don’t want to destroy you more than I need to possess
you. That’s progress for me.”
Hudson goes about getting with Alayna in
an unconventional way. He wants to pay her to be his pretend girlfriend. So we
have a manipulator of feelings and a compulsive stalker. Alayna spent the
majority of the book obsessing over if she was obsessing and Hudson tried to
ignore how he was really feeling. Do you SEE how this book is good?
We watch as these two stubble through
their developing feelings for each other. Ms Paige added in a witch of a mother
for Hudson and a brother so has decided to be done with Alayna bringing in more
obstacles for these two to have to conquer.
The sex was pretty hot too! I love a
book that has great sex scenes and this book delivered the sexy.
“I will have you beneath me. In a bed. Where I can adore you
properly.”
This was
a great ride and I am VERY thankful it is not over. Book two, Found In You is
already published and book three Forever
With You will be out in January.
USA
Today Bestselling Author Laurelin Paige is a sucker for a good romance and gets
giddy anytime there’s kissing, much to the embarrassment of her three
daughters. Her husband doesn’t seem to complain, however. When she isn’t
reading or writing sexy stories, she’s probably singing, watching Mad Men and the
Walking Dead, or dreaming of Adam Levine. She is represented by the wonderful
Bob Diforio of D4EO Literary Agency.
