Blog Tour: Because of Ellison by M.S. Willis

When I was nineteen years old, I lived for sex, drugs and a good party. I had it all - good looks, a fast car and a hot girlfriend. Nothing in life was more important.

That was, until I met Ellison James….

Since the moment I first saw her she was a raging bull; tackling me in the mud and throwing out insults as fast as her tongue could form the sound.

She was snarky
She was rude
And she pissed me off like no other woman could.

I lived beside her for a summer and in the three months that I walked by her side...

She opened my eyes
She changed my life
And she made me a better man

Those must have been fighting words, because the next thing she did was slam her hands against me with such force it almost knocked the air out of my chest. I tried to hold on, but when she took both my nipples between her fingers and twisted, I released her in response to the pain.

“Fuck! Ellison, that shit hurt!”
“I know it did, that’s why I did it. And you can expect that reaction from me every time you think you’re going to overpower and force me to stay still when I don’t want to!”

“Well, then fine!” I shoved my chest out at her and held my arms out to my sides. “Go ahead and rip them off then, El, because you can expect that I’m going to hold you every day until you stop breathing!”

She looked at me like I was nuts. Her voice was a whisper when she asked, “Why can’t you just go home?”

We stood staring at each other for a few seconds. It was eerily quiet where we stood, almost as if the birds and bugs had stopped to watch, curious to find out what would happen between us.

We locked eyes and I walked up to her. Grabbing her by her chin, I tilted her angry face up in my direction and held on when she tried to pull away.

“I am home. Why can’t you just accept it?”

Have you ever read a book that you couldn’t speed read, you took your time, and when you finished you really had no other words than wow? That’s where I am right now with Because of Ellison. This book felt so real. You go through every emotion with the characters as you read, it was amazing!

Hunter is a nineteen year old who comes from money and uses it for things he enjoys doing…basically drugs and sex. He’s considered a genius, so school comes very easy to him and helps keep his parents off his back. He gets the monthly lecture about how to be responsible/stay out of trouble from them but he knows the drill and knows nothing more will happen. Hunter really doesn’t have any drive in life, he lives to party. His girlfriend Tiffany is a bitch, I disliked her immediately but I guess she is your typical rich, spoiled brat stereotype. After Hunter’s car ends up in the bottom of his family’s swimming pool his parents decide to ship him off to Florida to live with his Uncle Bill and cousin Lily with nothing but his clothes… no technology, no car, no time to tell anyone he’s leaving, he’s on a plane and gone.

Once Hunter arrives in Florida the first thing he notices is the rundown house that he is told he will be helping clean up. He knows his summer is going to suck, that is until he meets Lily’s best friend Ellison. Ellison is awesome! I love her feistiness, her attitude, everything about her really. She doesn’t go easy on Hunter in any way. She puts him in his spot several times leaving Hunter to stare at her… he gets a creepy stalker nickname very fast. I died of laughter during the first two days of them meeting. Hunter is not use to girls like Ellison; in fact Hunter isn’t use to too much outside of partying. Ellison opens up to Hunter, and Hunter opens up to her, something neither of them normally do and it is heart clenching good. I really don’t know how else to explain it. I love how these two interact and how they grow and everything in between. I just love this book period.

If you are looking for something outside of the normal box, pick up this book. Hold on tight because it is an emotional roller coaster from the Prologue that had me thinking “What the heck did I get myself into” until the end that had me just in awe. This book is about REAL life, taking chances and living. I know my review is really vague but you need to find out all the good, bad and ugly on your own.  BEO will be high up on my 2014 list and this year just started. M.S. Willis you have a new fan with me! This was my first book from you but I will be reading more!
