In Present Perfect, Brad Johnson was sexy, cocky, rich and a complete Smurff**ker. He could afford anything he wanted and could charm any girl he set his eyes on. Everything was laid out in front of him, all for the taking except the one thing he craved and needed. A tragic event forces him to reevaluate his life. When he tries to change, will the people in his life let him move on from his past or will they constantly hold him to the life altering mistakes he’s made?

Mabry Darnell is intelligent, ambitious, beautiful, and sassy. Secrets from her past haunt the present causing her to question her actions in order to shield her heart and protect her life.

From the moment Brad and Mabry met, their connection was strong, intense, and electrifying. Both knew they had found the one person who could satisfy what the other ached for. When their pasts collide with their present, will it prevent them from having a future together or will love be strong enough to conquer their demons?

Barnes & Noble: Still to come

From Smurffucker to  my new favorite book boyfriend???  I think so!! I absolutely loved this book.  I can’t even say how much.  Brad Johnson shows us the side he has kept hidden from the world in Past Imperfect,  and I am so glad he did.  Brad and Mabry’s story is beautiful, tragic, sweet, funny, and hot! It  is everything I look for in a book.  This book takes place many years after we last saw Brad in Present Perfect, but it also gives us a look into Brad’s past and also Mabry’s.  It takes us on an amazing journey of two people who are nothing short of perfect for each other, no pun intended.

The Brad we first met in Present Perfect was a complete smurffucker.  There was no doubt in my mind. I could not have been more mad at him at some points in that book, but I have to admit that I began to see that there was more to him than he let on in Present Perfect.  I could not wait to get in his head.  I was NOT disappointed.  Brad is everything.  He is hot, sweet, a flirt, a smartass, a touch of a bad boy with a past that broke many hearts, but something happened that made him realize that he no longer wanted to be lonely.  The way he loves Mabry is what I think makes me love him so much.  He just loves her so completely, no matter what.  He is all in, and he does not give up when Mabry puts up barriers.  The way he took care of her even when she tried so hard to resist was incredible.  The way he always made her feel amazing, every day.  The intensity of his love for Mabry is irresistible.

Mabry is not perfect.  She is smart.  She is beautiful.  She has a great career ahead of her.  But she is broken inside.  She suffered a great tragedy as a child and has never recovered.  She used all the wrong coping mechanisms to essentially numb herself.  Mabry finally lets go when she meets Brad.  She sees a future for the first time, but she still cannot let go of her past when their pasts collide.  I love how honest Mabry is written.  I love and hate that she has to work so hard to be the person she wants to be.

Past Imperfect is also one of the hottest books I have read in a while that still pulled so many emotions from me.  Brad and Mabry’s chemistry is palpable and together they make magic in the bedroom or anywhere else they may be.

Once again this book is written beautifully.  I felt everything both of these characters felt.  My heart dropped.  My hands tingled.  I cried.  I laughed.  I wanted to throat punch Ms. Bailey a few times, but  I still love her.  She redeemed herself.  J   It is unique.  This story is not the same story I have read over and over again.  Brad and Mabry are characters all their own, and the fact that Bailey took a character most of us despised and made us fall in love with him is amazing.  She did in a totally believable way.  He is still Brad.  He did not morph into a completely new person, but he did have a life changing experience.
There is no question in my mind that this is FIVE STARS!!   If I could give it more I would.  It pulled every emotion out of me. WAMFU!  I loved this and can’t wait to read it again.

Alison was born and raised in Charleston, SC. As a child she would create (write) additional scenes to TV shows and movies that she watched. She attended Winthrop University and graduated with a major in Theater. While at school she began writing one act plays which she later produced. Throughout the years she continued writing and producing several one act plays, but then life got in the way and she hung up her pen for a while. At the end of 2012 a very talented author friend convinced Alison to go back to writing and see what happens. So she did and fell back in love with it. Present Perfect will be Alison's first self-published book. A few personal facts, Alison loves anything sweet, especially frosting, and is addicted to Diet Pepsi. Alison's philosophy: Don't let your obstacles define you. At times life can get pretty overwhelming, but with a great support system and a lot of humor you can get through them. If you have humor in your life your spirit stays strong and you can tackle anything.
