Girl in Love (Kylie Ryans #3)

New Adult Contemporary Romance

Release Date: February 4, 2014

She’s living her dream…

Kylie Ryans is the biggest thing to come out of Nashville since, well, since Trace Corbin. With a hit album and a powerful label behind her, she appears to be the girl who has it all.

But appearances can be deceiving.

Fresh out of rehab, Trace Corbin is ready to take on the world. Just not the girl he walked away from. Because if there’s one thing he knows for certain, it’s that the people you love are the one’s who have the power to destroy you.

As their worlds collide, they’ll have to make the ultimate choice. Follow their dreams, or give it all up for love.

They say love conquers all, but for Kylie and Trace, it just might wreck everything they’ve worked for.

Girl in Love is the third book in the Kylie Ryan’s series. You need to read book one, Girl with Guitar, and book two, Girl on Tour, before you read this book. Since it is the third in the series if you have not read the first two my review will contain spoilers.
My first thought when GiL showed up on my Kindle was HELL FREAKING YES! I dropped everything I was reading and jumped straight in. I took my time reading though because I knew once it was over I was going to be sad…and I was.

GiL starts out at Kylie’s birthday party thrown at her house. For the last nine months Trace has been in rehab with Gretchen and hasn’t reached out to Kylie at all. Kylie has basically been a walking zombie, not really feeling anything, just putting everything she is into her music. She is now a Country Superstar; everyone knows her name but she isn’t happy. All she can seem to think about is Trace.
Enter Steven….Oh holy heck Steven!!!! AHHH I wanted more with him…I know Kylie belongs with Trace and I wouldn’t want her with anyone else but hot damn Steven made his impression on me! Kylie and Steven fool around a little bit as friends, even though Steven is still hung up on Mia and Kylie on Trace; it is a mutual friends with benefits situation. Their friends with benefits arrangement never got too far but was enough for Kylie to use it when she needed to push Trace….Oh Kylie I hated you for this!

Trace is fresh out of rehab and very happy with his decision to check himself in nine months ago. He knows he burnt some bridges with Kylie by not explaining everything to her and going with Gretchen into the facility, but he knew he had to, he needs to be what Kylie needs and at that point he was no where near it. When he shows up at Kylie’s house to wish her a Happy Birthday, Steven is standing right behind her at the door. His first thought...shoot, she’s moved on. He can’t blame her but he is still going to try to see if he has a chance.
This story had me happy, sad, pissed and irritated! I wanted to kick both Trace and Kylie’s butts with their stubborn ways. IF THEY JUST TALKED TO EACH OTHER - HELLO!!! I understand why they both thought what they thought but enough already! I also know Steven knew what he was getting himself into by going on tour with Kylie but I did feel really bad for him. I’m glad he made the decision he did when everything came to a head with Trace. I felt the best part of the story was towards the end. Once they got through the crap, everything got good. There is one point something major happens and your heart will fall out with a ton of "what ifs", I loved this part! From here I couldn’t put the book down. For me the best part is when Kylie pulls herself out of her funk and becomes herself again. This happens with a little push from Gretchen, who you won’t hate as much once you get to this part. You get more of Claire Anne and Rae, their stories are very big in this book and I was glad to see what has been going on with them. For me GiL was about moving on from your past and into your future. We get that with everyone by the end of the Epilogue. Love this series!! So sad its over!
