Every Second With You is the sequel to Lauren Blakely’s The Thrill of It and the perfect conclusion to Harley and Trey’s story. I cried. I swooned. I fell in love with these characters all over again.
What I loved most about this novel was the story. It had the perfect balance of drama to romance. Also, there is an element that makes it realistic and believable. It’s my understanding that addiction is a constant struggle and recovery is something that must be worked on daily. It’s always a never-ending fight and one that could relapse at any given moment. I think Lauren honored this idea in the story as she presented her characters with old and new obstacles they must cope with and adapt to.
Trey and Harley made phenomenal progress in the first novel as they battled their baggage. At the same time, the couple will always have skeletons and be recovering addicts. Their past is not something they can run from, but something they must accept. Trouble has not subsided for our hero and heroine, and challenge after challenge, Harley and Trey excelled and proved the foundation of their love was solid and not fleeting. It was inspiring to watch these characters develop and gain a stronger holds on living healthy, stable lives.
Fans of Lauren Blakely’s No Regrets Series will be left immensely satisfied with this fantastic conclusion. If you haven’t had the opportunity to get your hands on these books, I strongly recommend you move them up your TBR list.
